First Lines Friday, 56 and BBH ~ 5/8/20

https://hoardingbooksblog.wordpress.com/

Today's "First Lines" and "56" are from:

First Lines

My dearest Casper,

It's not easy to be the middle child, the one who is neither the oldest--the responsible legacy bearer--nor the youngest, pampered and cherished just because he is the last.

 56%

She looked like she'd pulled an all-nighter -- her hair stringy and limp, her skin sallow, her eyes -- oh, her eyes.  Cracked and angry.

 Q.  What platform do you use for your blog? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

 A.  I use Blogger as it is the platform that I started with over 10 years ago!  I can't believe it has been that long since starting my blog!

  2. Susan May Warren is one of my all-time favorite authors, and the Christiansen family series is my favorite of hers!

Today on my blog I'm featuring Standoff by Patricia Bradley. My current read is Hadley Beckett's Next Dish by Bethany Turner, and I'm just starting chapter 14: "'For the last time,' I seethed, 'would you please get out of my way?'"

Have a great weekend, and happy reading!

    Happy Friday! πŸ™‚
Today on my blog I'm sharing from Masquerade at Middlecrest Abbey by Abigail Wilson. It's an excellent novel! Currently I'm reading Unveiling the Past by Kim Vogel Sawyer. I'm on chapter 19, so I'll post a line from there.
"It shouldn't surprise us that someone else lives at the address from 1998."
Hope you have a great weekend!

  7. Happy Friday!
This week on my blog I shared the first line from This Wandering Heart by Janine Rosche but I'm currently reading Of Literature and Lattes by Katherine Reay so I'll share the first line from my current chapter (17) here: "Alyssa was sitting at her dad's old desk sorting through her notes on Jeremy's data when her mom walked through the back door and into the kitchen." Hope you have a great reading weekend!

  8. My sister always comments about being the middle child. Bu she was the first girl which made her special.

  9. My first line is from Storing Up Trouble by Jen Turano:
    September 1886
The truth of the matter was this—she, Miss Beatrix Waterbury, had been banished from New York, and all because she’d had the great misfortune of landing herself in jail…twice.

  12. Love your 56 this week. I can just picture her.

I have used Blogger for over 10 years too and am quite happy with it.

  13. Doesn't time fly, Colletta! I originally started out on Blogger too but got tempted away to Wordpress.com with all their widgets, customisation options and formatting in 2017. On 30th April I decided to go down the self-hosting route and found an affordable deal - Flora's Musings is now a WP.org self-hosted blog! πŸ’œπŸ˜Š
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, stay safe and healthy.
