Hello, and Happy Monday !

The weather outside is:

I'm absolutely LOVING this weather!  The cool, crisp air is my favorite :)

On today's to-do list:

Kaylee and Shawn are moving into their new house this week.  We'll be helping them transfer belongings, paint and whatever else they need us to do this week!

Happening this week:

See above :)

Otherwise it is a pretty normal week.

We do have a wedding to attend on Saturday.  A cousin on my Dad's side of the family is getting married at a Farm wedding venue.  I'm pretty excited to check the place out!

Currently reading:

Nothing.  I've been intending on reading at least 30 minutes a day for the past month and I've read nothing at all.  Things have just been so up in the air recently and I haven't been in the head-space to dig into a story.

On the TV:

Turner & Hooch (the series)
Doogie Kamealoha (new series on Disney+)

Listening to:

This week for "Songs on Sunday" I featured "RATTLE! by Elevation Worship.  I hope you'll check it out :)

On the menu week:

Monday ~  Ham, cheesy potatoes
Tuesday ~ Chicken & Gravy, biscuits
Wednesday ~ Pancakes, Sausage
Thursday ~  Pizza, Wings, Salad
Friday ~ Pork Chops, Au Gratins
Saturday ~ Wedding Reception
Sunday ~ Potluck at Church

In the Craft Basket:

In my very literal "craft basket" is the I-Spy Quilt I am making for my cousin's baby due in December.  I have all the charms sewn together and am in the process of hand-quilting it.  The parents-to-be aren't telling anyone the name of baby girl, so for now I'll be just call it the I-Spy Quilt.

What a difference new bedding does for a room!

Memory Verse

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.  Hebrews 10:30-31

Have a great Monday!

Blogging Challenge ~ What Makes Me LOL ~ 9/22/2021

This week's topic is:

What Makes Me LOL?:

This is an easy question.

The Hubby makes me laugh out loud every day!

Don't get me wrong.  His sense of humor can sometimes be quite irritating but for the most part it makes me laugh :)

So, what makes you LOL?

The only Thanksgiving show I can think of is Charlie Brown The Great Pumpkin!  Are there any others?

2.   What is there about Thanksgiving you like the best:

Getting together with family is my favorite things about Thanksgiving.  That and Pumpkin Pie!

3.   Favorite Thanksgiving/holiday song?:

Here's one I found on youtube :)

4.   If you have an all holiday music radio station when do you start listening to it?:

Anytime after October starts is game for me :)  But...I usually listen to Christmas music the most after Thanksgiving.

Hello, and Happy Monday !

The weather outside is:

Gorgeous weather this week!  I can definitely tell Fall is coming :)

On today's to-do list:

Today I spent some time decluttering.  I worked on Laken's desk and got it organized.  It was a huge mess from when she cleaned out her bookbag from last year to get it ready for this school year.  I had to sort through papers, pictures, binders, etc.  It looks so much better now and Laken can actually use it to sit down and do school work!

Mom and Dad did the grocery shopping this week as they had to make a trip to "town" anyway, so I got out of doing that this week :)

Happening this week:

It is a pretty normal week except for some appts on Friday.

Currently reading:

(STILL...)I'm getting ready to start reading "On Magnolia Lane" by Denise Hunter who is one of my very favorite authors!

On the TV:

RIO
Turner & Hooch (the series)
Doogie Kamealoha (new series on Disney+)

Listening to:

This week for "Songs on Sunday" I featured "Scars In Heaven" by Casting Crowns.  I hope you'll check it out :)

On the menu week:

Monday ~  Out
Tuesday ~ Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes
Wednesday ~ Chicken, biscuits
Thursday ~  Fish, homemade French Fries
Friday ~ Spaghetti, garlic bread
Saturday ~ Soup, sandwiches
Sunday ~ Potluck at Church

In the Craft Basket:

I finally finished Kaylee and Shawn's Wedding Afghan!  It felt nice to finish a project.

Also, I decided to pick my quilting needle back up!  The hubby bought me a new sewing machine for our anniversary.  My old one broke years ago.  I ordered some novelty squares to make an I-Spy Quilt for my cousin's baby that is due at the end of December.  I'm excited to get back into sewing!

Memory Verse

Blow a trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm on My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
For the day of the Lord is coming;
Indeed, it is near,  Joel 2:1

My Weekly Bookishness ~ 9/17/2021

All things bookish!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What I Read:
Unfortunately, I didn't finish reading anything this week :(
~~~~~~~~~~

What I'm Reading:

Blurb:

Falling in love with Daisy was easy for Jack. But finding the courage to tell her becomes problematic when his secret feelings lead to even bigger complications.

After two years of counseling sessions with Daisy Pendleton, Pastor Jack McReady has earned a permanent spot in her life as a spiritual leader—and nothing more. Jack would never risk losing her trust by exposing the depths of his heart, but he’s hopelessly in love with her.

Daisy loves her southern small-town life and her job at her family-run flower shop, but she doesn’t have the thing she longs for most: someone to share it with. Her recent foray into online dating has been a disaster—until she meets TJ.

Jack could kill his friend Noah for using his initials and some indistinct photos to set up a profile on the dating app Daisy is using. But when he’s finally afforded the opportunity to show her a different side of himself, he’s sucked into the plan before he has time for second thoughts.

Online, Daisy shares some of her greatest fears with TJ, but in person, Jack and Daisy are spending more time together. When a devastating family secret surfaces, Daisy knows that only her trusted friend and counselor can bring her comfort. Jack wants nothing more than to be both men for Daisy, but revealing his secret will prove to be the ultimate test of Daisy’s grace.

First Lines:

This wasn't his ordinary way of seeing her.  Usually she came into his office to talk--hence the one-hour increments.

56%/Page 56

"She's gone," she whispered between breaths.

What I'll (Probably) Read Next:

Blurb:

Nothing could get her home…but this.

Cassidy Leblanc worked hard to shake off her tragic childhood. As a foster child with a mother in prison for murder, she was an outcast in her small New Hampshire town until she met James. But she and James’s sister, whom she was babysitting, were kidnapped. She escaped, but Hallie didn’t survive, and everybody assumed Cassidy killed her. Like mother, like daughter, after all. With public opinion and the authorities united against her, young Cassidy fled. Now, a decade later, another little girl has been kidnapped, and Cassidy may be the only person who can find her.

He doesn’t know who to trust.

James Sullivan never believed that Cassidy killed his sister, no matter what the authorities said. When his best friend’s daughter goes missing a decade after Hallie's murder, James keeps his opinions on the matter to himself. But when he finds Cassidy sneaking around his property, his thoughts turn dark. If she’s not behind the recent kidnapping, what is she doing back in Coventry? Her answer—that she’s returned to find little Ella, and she needs his help—has him reeling. Can he trust Cassidy, despite what the police tell him? If there’s any chance he can save Ella, he has to try.

Danger lurks on the mountain.

Together, they search for the elusive cave where Cassidy and Hallie were taken, but somebody will stop at nothing to make sure they don’t find it or, if they do, that they don’t come out alive.

Q.  Where do you get background images for your posts, or do you create them yourself? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews

A. I haven't used a new background image in a long time.  I'm interested to see what people reply on this question.

The Good Stuff ~ Kaylee and Shawn's Afghan ~ 9/16/2021

~~~~~~~~
I am so excited to finally be able to post that I have FINISHED Kaylee and Shawn's Wedding Afghan only one whole month late!   :) :) :)
I fully intended to gift it to them at Kaylee's Bridal Shower but life got in the way.  :(
Here are some close-up pictures for the readers who like to see the details :)
This following picture is a bit wonky, as I took the picture with my phone and it is sideways.  (I couldn't figure out how to "quickly" rotate it. )
The pups were also in my way a bit and Lilah moves for no one!
So, finishing this afghan up has me very thankful this week.  I hope it brings a smile to Kaylee and Shawn's face(s)!
W
hat has you thankful/smiling/exited this week?  Tell me all the good stuff!
