Weekly Weigh In ~ 5/6/20

I did way too much snacking this week and didn't do a very good job of tracking everything.  I really need to work on not snacking this week.  I think I write that every week, but it is a real problem for me!

I managed to get in 31 Fit Points which is 6 Points over my goal of 25 Fit Points.  Thank you, treadmill!  I'm loving being able to hop on the treadmill and exercise any time I get the chance no matter the weather.  I'm trying to get into a rhythm of getting up in the morning, eating breakfast, and then getting on the treadmill.  I feel so much better knowing I have my exercise in for the day.

I've decided to change my actual weigh in day to Monday.  I'm hoping that this will help with controlling my eating over the weekend.  When I weigh in on Friday, for some reason I think that it is OK to be off-plan until Monday.  This is NOT working.

Hence, the loss of only 0.4 lbs this week.  It is still a loss, so I'll take it.  I do, however, want to get some bigger losses.  If I could consecutively lose 1-2 lbs a week I would be ecstatic!

I'll just have to keep working on a plan that will work the best for me.  Wish me luck!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Highest Weight ~ 297.0
(re) Starting Weight ~ 4/8/20 ~ 283.4

Last Week's Weight ~  4/24/20 ~ 279.6 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 5/1/20 ~      279.2 lbs

This Week's Total:    -.04 lbs

Total:  -4.2 lbs
Grand Total: -17.8 lbs

I'm going to be weighing in on Mondays but will post my results on Wednesday.

I hope you follow along on my (seemingly never-ending) journey!  If you'd like to join in, let me know :)

Weekly Weigh In ~ 4/29/20

This week went pretty well.  I stayed within my Smart Point limit for the week, having 11 Weekly Smart Points left.  If you aren't familiar with how the food points work with MyWW here's the quick run down:

I get 31 Daily Points that reset every day at 12am.  The goal is to stay within that amount each day.  Pretty simple.  Then there are Weekly Points.  I get 42 Weekly Points.  These can be used any time during the week for "extras".  This resets (for me) Friday morning at 12am.

The "theory" is that if I stay within my Dailies and Weeklies, then I will lose 1-2 pounds a week.

Then there are Fit Points.  They are points that you earn for activity.  You can set your Fit Point goal to whatever amount you'd like to strive for that week.  Right now, I have my Fit Point goal set for 25 Fit Points.  This past week I actually met my Fit Point goal and earned 26 Fit Points!  Whoohoo.

I fully intend to increase my Fit Point goal in the future especially now that I got a NEW treadmill!  It was on a flash sale so that helped me make the decision to take the plunge and buy one.  I'm really enjoying being able to get up in the morning and hop on the treadmill and get lots of steps in no matter the weather.

My plan is to slowly increase my earned Fit Points until I'm comfortable enough to increase my actual Fit Point Goal.

Having said ALL that, I gained 1 pound this week.  Bah humbug!  I think I know what I'm doing wrong and that would be not tracking my snacks completely honestly.  Gotta work on that.  I'm hurting no one but myself.

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Weekly Weigh In ~ 4/22/20

Hello and how are you today?  I hope all is well!

I had a pretty good first week back on WW.  I did use some of my weekly points but that is OK especially since we had Easter Dinner and Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Icing!  I limited myself to 1 cupcake though and tracked it.

I only got in 14/25 Fitpoints so this week I'm going to be working on getting more activity in.  I have a step counter watch that I got off of Amazon for like $22 so that is how I'm tracking my movement.  It has been pretty cold outside so I broke down and did a walking DVD with Leslie Sansone.

I'd really like to get a new treadmill as the one I bought used bit the dust.  We're doing some research and I'm trying to decide if I really NEED one or to just walk outside once it gets a bit warmer which it is supposed to do this week.  There are pros (walking anytime) and cons (expensive) to getting a treadmill.  Let me know if you have one and what kind you would suggest in the comments.

So, the goal is to get those 25 Fitpoints in this week and stay within my Daily and Weekly Food Points.  Hopefully that will give me a loss!

Weekly Weigh In ~ 2/13/20

I'm a day late posting my Weekly Weigh In because, to be honest, I wasn't even going to write it.

I'm so discouraged :(

I gained 3.2 lbs last week according to my WW weigh in!  How can that be????  I've been staying on track with my food and I've been hitting the gym regularly with the family.  I don't know what happened but it makes me just want to quit.

Not quit eating better and exercising, but to quit WW.  Why am I paying almost $50/month to gain weight?  Why am I getting up at the crack of dawn on Saturdays to go to my Workshop while my family sleeps in just to be told that I've gained 3.2 POUNDS!

I haven't cancelled my membership as it is good through the 21st but I'm seriously considering just tracking my food and exercise in a notebook and saving the time and money that is WW.  I've been battling the same 5 lbs for 5 months and I don't understand why.

Any suggestions???  I'm at a loss....

Now,

Weekly Weigh In ~ 2/5/20

No Workshop or Weigh In this week.  Our Youth Group had a Lock In (all night get-together with food and fun) Friday night and I'm a Youth Helper.  The Lock In wasn't over until 11am Saturday which is well after my Workshop.

I do, however, have some exercise news.  We've been going to the gym pretty regularly for a few weeks now.  Laken turned 13 years old on Sunday and can now go with us!  Monday evening was the first evening that we were able to go to the gym as an entire family of four :)  Laken was very excited to show us her "stuff" :)  We were diligent to make sure she didn't over-do herself, though!

I do mainly cardio but Doug, Kaylee and Laken do a little bit of cardio to warm up and then move on to the weights and lifting area.  I'm just not ready for that yet!  It was actually FUN!  I remember going to the gym by myself and dreading it because everyone else was at home.  I think going as a family will definitely help me be more consistent with my gym time.  I'm definitely feeling stronger!

Now,

Weekly Weigh In ~ 1/29/20

Hello and Happy Weekly Weigh In!

Can you tell that I had a loss this week?  I'm feeling cheerful!

My Workshop on Saturday was all about tracking.  Tracking in an honest, accurate manner is why I had a loss this week.  Most days, I actually pre-tracked.  What that means is that at the beginning of the day, I went into MyWW app and tracked the food I was planning to eat that day and then I stuck to it.  It worked!  I lost 1.4 lbs and actually had 1 smart point taken away from my daily allotment.  I now get 29 smart points daily along with my 42 weekly points.

As for exercise, I worked my butt off this past week!  We're back to going to the gym on a regular basis and I earned 33 Fit points which surpassed my 25 fitpoint goal for the week.  The app actually asked me if I want to increase my fitpoint goal to 35 and I went for it!  I'm going to really have to push myself to reach 35 fitpoints this week.  I'll let you know how I do at next week's weigh in.

Now,

Weekly Weigh In ~ 1/22/20

We had a major ice storm here in my neck of the woods on Saturday so I wasn't able to make it out to my WW Workshop.  I'm not even sure if they still had it or if it was cancelled.  I saw the ice at 7am and promptly went back under the covers!

So, no weigh in this week...

I do, however, want to mention that I've gotten myself a "fitbit" type contraption for my wrist to measure my steps for the day.  It does a whole lot more than that but was only $23 on amazon.

I wanted to see how many steps I was getting in on a regular day.  I should say how LITTLE steps I get in on a regular day.  "They" recommend getting 10,000 steps a day but on a non-gym/treadmill day I'm only getting 20% of that.  One day that I got on the treadmill for 30 minutes I got about 5,000 steps for the day, so better but still not quite there!

When we go to the gym I'm putting about 60 minutes in on the treadmill and stepper.  Due to the ice, we didn't make it to the gym Monday (I used my treadmill though) so I'm anxious to see how many steps I get in at the gym.

Weekly Weigh In ~ 1/15/20

This week I maintained my weight...  No gain.  No loss.  I don't know whether to be happy, sad or mad!

I just wish I could get my rear in gear and be consistent.  I'll do really well for a day or two and then blow the next day!  Consistency and determination need to happen if I want to meet my goals.

Exercise and staying within my daily points allowed are key and I'm the only one that can do it!

Weekly Weigh In ~ 1/8/20

Hello, 2020 fitness and wellness!

My goal is to lose 1 lb per week.  I had my first 2020 MyWW weigh in on Saturday January 4th and lost .4 lbs .

I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't 1 lb but then I started thinking that it had only been 1/2 a week since 2020 had started so that would be right on track!

I tracked my smartpoints all week and counted everything I ate on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.  I tried to be mindful of what I was eating while still enjoying the holiday food wise.  I think I had 6 weekly points left by Friday night.

I really want to get my 25 lbs Charm by the end of January.  I need to lose 4 lbs to get there.

This week I definitely want to hit the 1 lb loss mark and to do that I need to track everything and get some good walks in either on the treadmill or outside.  It is a bit cold outside so I don't know if I'll make it outside but thankfully I do have the treadmill option.  I also have walking DVD's but, frankly, I'm sick to death of them!

How are your 2020 fitness and wellness goals going so far?

Now,

Weekly Weigh In ~ 12/31/19

I usually post my Weekly Weigh In on Wednesday but decided to post one last weigh in for 2019.

I missed 2 Workshops in a row so I was very nervous about weighing in on Saturday.  I thought for sure I'd have a gain of at least 5 lbs from all the cookies and fudge I'd eaten over the past 3 weeks!

Before I hopped on the scale I told my Guide how bad I thought it would be so when my weight registered she said, "YOU LOST!!!"  She was as excited as I was.  (I love my Guides and my Coach.  They are the best!)

I guess, even though I was eating a lot of sugary sweetness, I was being mindful in other areas.  I must be learning something!

So I'm ending 2019 weighing 270.2 lbs and having lost 20.6 lbs so far on MyWW journey.

My goal for 2020 is to lose an average of 1 lb per week.  That would be a total of 52 lbs in a year.  Of course I'd be thrilled with more but I want to keep my goal achievable and not overwhelming.  (My bonus goal would be to hit Onederland!)

What are your 2020 health and wellness goals?

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 12/7/19 ~ 271.6 lbs

Weekly Weigh In ~ 12/11/19

Another week.  Another gain :(

This time it was a 1.2 lb gain :(  Sigh...

I noticed that while on the Green option of MyWW, I was eating a lot more unhealthy foods.  Even though I was tracking, I was still gaining.  So, I decided to go back to Blue (Freestyle).  I talked it over with one of the Guides at my Workshop and she agreed that I should try switching to Blue and see what happens.

I've been eating a lot of eggs this week as they are a zero point food.  Our Workshop was all about utilizing zero point foods especially during this Holiday season.  I can have 2 eggs and an English Muffin for only 4 Points.  Not bad for a breakfast or lunch.

I still am holding out hope for that 25 lb Charm before Christmas, but it seems elusive.  I'll give it my best!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Weekly Weigh In ~ 12/4/19

I had a small gain this week.

I think it was a combination of Thanksgiving, eating out on Black Friday and slacking on tracking.

Thanksgiving was great.  I didn't do too badly but I did get seconds when I really wouldn't have needed to.

Black Friday the hubby and I have a tradition of going shopping and then getting breakfast.  We went to Denny's and I had a Moon Over My Hammy!  So good but I imagine chock full of points and the it being the day before weigh in couldn't have helped.

As for slacking on tracking, I didn't track Thursday or Friday.

All that being said, I only gained 0.8 lbs last week.  I was still bummed because it threw me back up into the 270's.  Again!

However, I'm still really close to the 25 lbs charm and I want to get it before Christmas.  I really, really want to get it before Christmas!

So what have I been doing this week?  I've been tracking.  Everything.  And I've been walking either in the stores or on my treadmill.  I'd really love a Fitbit for Christmas so I can count my steps.

And...I'm back to participating in the Facebook Group "WW Challenge Squad" 's 3% Challenge for December.  I'm hoping it will help keep me motivated during this month of the usual splurgings.  My 3% goal is to lose 8.2 lbs in December.  Totally doable.  I hope!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Weekly Weigh In ~ 11/27/19

Peanut Butter Fudge is my nemesis.  I have a LOVE/hate relationship with it.  My mom made a batch last week and I couldn't stay out of it!  Other than that I did so good being on the Green Option of MyWW.

I was really intrigued to see how my weigh in would go with the new options.  I lost, but only 0.4 lbs...  Just imagined IF I HADN'T eaten the fudge!

I've been using my treadmill and am enjoying it because I can crank MY music up and go to town on the treadmill.

So, I guess I was happy that I didn't gain, but I do wish I had lost a bit more.

I really want to get my 25 lb charm before Christmas.  Only 3.8 lbs to go!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 11/16/19 ~ 270.0 lbs

Thankful Thursday ~ 11/21/19

Here are some things that made me smile this week:

~2020 Pen Pals!  I'm excited to let you know that I'll be putting together another round of Pen Pals for 2020!  I did this back in 2017 and had a lot of success with participation.  I'd love you to consider being a Pen Pal this coming year.  Click HERE to find out more :)

https://collettaskitchensink.blogspot.com/2019/11/2020-pen-pal-sign-ups-ends-122019.html

~Aunt Mary and Dolly!  I mentioned last week that my Aunt Mary and my two cousins, Dolly and Nikki, were flying up from Florida for the weekend.  Well, Nikki ended up chickening out on flying...  I can't say that I blame her, really.  I've only been in an airplane once in my life and that was almost 20 years ago for our Honeymoon.  We did get to have a nice visit with Aunt Mary and Dolly.  For that, I am thankful :)

~New-to-Me Treadmill and Bike!  A work friend of the hubby's sold us a very gently used treadmill and exercise bike for $100!  I had been hinting to the hubby that I wanted a treadmill for Christmas so this came at just the right time.  Now I can crank up The Message and walk away on the treadmill :)

I went Green!  WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) is now MyWW and gives members 3 options to pick from.  Green, Blue and Purple.  I picked the Green option!  To read more about this see my Weigh Post from this week.  It should be the post before this one :)

~I Finished Mark!  In my efforts to up my Bible reading time, I picked the Book of Mark to read.  I finished reading through Mark yesterday!  Any suggestions on which Book of the Bible to read next?  I was thinking maybe Luke, but we're studying Luke at Sunday Evening Services.  What do you think?

What made you smile this week?

Weekly Weigh In ~ 11/20/19

So much exciting news to share with you this week!

First, I was nervous about my weigh-in because I hadn't been exercising regularly.  However, when I got on the scale at Workshop I was down 2.2 lbs!  I was very excited about this loss because I had a gain last week!

And...the new program MyWW launched!  There are now three options to choose from:  Green, Purple and Blue.

Green apparently is what used to be PointsPlus.  Blue is Freestyle.  And Purple is what used to be SimplyFilling.

So...which one did I pick?

At first I was going to stay on Blue as that is what I knew.  I've only ever done Freestyle.  But after some investigation and looking at our new program information we received at Workshop, I decided to GO GREEN!

On Green I get 38 daily points and 42 weekly points.  But...the only foods that are zero points are fruits and veggies.  I'm OK with this as I didn't eat very many of the zero point foods on Freestyle as it was.

I think Green is going to be much easier for me to maintain.  I'll see how it goes.

The good thing about having three options to choose from is that if one doesn't work for a person, it is super simple to change another option.  "They" suggest giving a change 2 weeks to really see how it is going to work with your body and lifestyle.

So exciting!

Now,

Weekly Weigh In ~ 11/14/19

I'm a day late with my Weekly Weigh In because I really didn't want to admit that I gained over the last two weeks :(

I missed a Workshop on 11/2/19 and ate terribly over the following week.  Not to mention, nearly no exercise has been happening over here lately!

I really didn't want to face the scale this past Saturday, but I knew that if I didn't I would just spiral out of control and I desperately want to get back on track and lose weight.

So, I went to the Workshop and weighed in.  I gained 2.8 lbs over the last 2 weeks :(  What a bummer!  But also a wake up call.

At the Workshop, we talked briefly about the changes coming up in WW.  More will information is going to be given at this week's Workshop but WW rolled out the new Plan"s" on Monday.  I'll tell more about this next week after I've gotten to talk to my Coach and the Guide's on Saturday.  I'm really hoping to kick my rear in gear because I've gotten so slack with my exercise and tracking...

Weekly Weigh In ~ 10/30/19

Well, this week I maintained.  No loss.  No gain.

Considering how much junk I ate last week and no exercise, I was fully expecting a gain so I was relieved with maintaining my current weight.

This week's Workshop topic was right on point for me!  It was about "setting goals within reach".  I've been struggling with my exercise goal for weeks because I was setting my sights too high.  After this Workshop, I've realized that starting out small is actually the best way to go.  Also, set yourself up for success and not for failure.

It is working!  I've walked 2 times already this week and fully intend to finish the week out strong.  The difference is in my thinking.  Instead of thinking "I have to go to the gym and work out for an hour or more", I'm thinking "head outside and take a nice walk in the cool crisp fall air".  So much more fun!

Now,

Thankful Thursday ~ 10/17/19

Here are some things that made me thankful or smile this week:

~Fall Foliage Festival!  Bedford has an annual Fall Foliage Festival with tons of food and tons of booths of decorations, jewelry and basically anything you could think of.  Saturday, Laken and I went to the Festival.  Just the two of us.  We had a great time.  It felt so good to have some one-on-one time with Laken as she's been so busy with school and Volleyball these past few months :)

~Kona's toy!  I love that kids and dogs don't need expensive toys.  Doug gave Kona an empty pop bottle to play with and she was in her glory!  Don't worry.  We kept our eye on her and when she had chewed it enough to have sharp edges we got rid of it.  But she loved it while she had it :)  I wish everyone was so easy to please!

~Last week of Volleyball!  Don't get me wrong!  I absolutely LOVE watching Laken play Volleyball and love that she loves playing.  But, this is the last week of Volleyball and I sure am looking forward to some nice quiet evenings.  I'm also looking forward to having everyone sit at the supper table at the same time :)

~The hubby went to the Chiropractor!  You don't know what a feat this was!  Doug pulled his back last weekend and I guess it finally got painful enough for him to let me take him to my Chiropractor.  15 minutes in with the Dr. and he is feeling so much better :)

~I've lost 20 lbs!  If you didn't read my "Weekly Weigh In" post yesterday, I have lost 20.4 lbs since returning to WW 2.5 months ago.  I'm so excited that the program is working for me.  I have a long way to go, but 20 lbs!  :)

What are you thankful for or made you smile today?

Weekly Weigh In ~ 10/16/19

I was so worried to go to my Workshop on Saturday!  After missing last week's Workshop, I didn't feel like I did very well with my eating and definitely didn't meet my fitness goals.

However, when I got on the scale I had lost 2 lbs!  I don't feel like 2 lbs in 2 weeks is a GREAT loss but at least I lost and didn't gain!

AND, I hit 20 lbs lost!  20.4 lbs to be exact.

I'm so close to being in the 260's and really want to make that my goal this week.

The Workshop itself was about "stress eating" and we had a very good talk about stressors and what to do instead of stress eating.  Here are WW's suggestions:

1.  Just breathe
2.  Git a hit of nature
3.  Use your tools
4.  Reach out

I can honestly say that I don't do enough of any of these when I get stressed but now I have something to focus on instead of stress eating!
