Book Beginnings and 56 ~ Unbreakable ~ 2/8/13

Please join Rose City Reader and me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Current Read:
Unbreakable (Road to Kingdom, #2)
"Unbreakable" by Nancy Mehl
The Book Beginning:
"All I know, Hope, is that folks in Kingdom need to be careful."
My Thoughts:
Very ominous.....  I soon learned why.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The 56th Page:

"Hope, I would like to know that you understand me.  You're silence does not assure me that you have taken my concerns to heart."

My Thoughts:

Boy, everyone is so concerned with giving Hope advice and warning her.  You wouldn't think she is a 26 year old grown woman!  FYI, these are two different people speaking.  I'm on page 72 and look forward to reading the rest to see if all the warnings are warranted.

Happy Friday!

  7. I love the first sentence! I too have to know why. I love a book that can grab my attention from the start.
    Great meme. I will have to jump on board next time around.
