Sewing Saturday ~ 1/8/2022

I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.

~~~~~~~~
Friday evening was Friday Night with Friends so I made some time to sit at my sewing machine and piece the blocks that I had cut out last week.
Below is the very first log cabin block I've ever pieced.  It was so easy (after I decided the placement!).  I'm thinking of making a Log Cabin Quilt now.  What do you think?  Have you ever made one?
I really wish the medallion in the center of the block below would have been more centered.  I'm kicking myself for not noticing beforehand!
Now to cut and sew the settings and borders and actually put the top together :)  These blocks were all a part of Pat Sloan's Fall Frolic.
  2. I love blue and white blocks/quilts. I have only made a log cabin needle case but I did enjoy it. I love the variations that can happen when changing the orientation of the blocks.
  3. Beautiful blocks! So glad you squeezed in some time behind the sewing machine. I never noticed that the center square on the last block wasn't centered. Probably won't even be noticeable in the final top. See you next month!
  5. I've made lots of log cabin quilts. They're a great way to use up scraps.
  10. I adore log cabin quilts, and have made a few. At the moment I am quilting one for my bed. You can do so much with log cabins.
  11. These are so pretty in the blues. I'm just finishing a quilt in Courthouse steps, foundation paper pieced, that I enjoyed very much. A Log Cabin is definitely on my to do list. Enjoy your stitching!
  12. Oooh, your blocks are so pretty. Love the blues. Many years ago I made a huge log cabin top, probably king size. I enjoyed making it and am thinking of making another one now that I have enough strips. Happy quilting!
  14. I've never made a log cabin quilt, but I just got a quilt book about them! I love log cabins and have made a few blocks but always have trouble unless I'm looking straight at a pattern. Yours is really pretty - I like that middle block a little off center!
    Thank you for linking to To Do Tuesday!
