The weather outside is:

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas and it isn't even Thankgiving...yet!

On today's to-do list: 

Laken has a test scheduled Monday at 11:45am for her stomach.  It is crazy how long a person has to wait to get tests these days.  Maybe it has always been like that and I just didn't know it.

Kaylee started a new job as a server at Bob Evans restaurant.  She works 2-7pm so we are going to go be her customers for supper :)

Happening this week:

This week starts the exciting Holiday Season in my eyes!  My sister-in-law, Kelly, is hosting Thanksgiving Dinner for us on Thursday.  I'm not sure if we're going shopping on Friday yet or not.  It is up in the air.  I have no clue what to get anyone gift-wise this year.  Usually by now I at least have an idea.

The hubby is on 3rd shift but only works 3 days this week.  Then he'll be off for 6 days!  whohoo!

Currently reading:

I'm still reading "The Lady of Larkspur Vale" by Kasey Stockton.  It went on the back burner as I wanted to get done with a project I was working on.  (more below :)

On the TV:

Hallmark Christmas Movies!!!!  Yay!!!!

In the Craft Basket:

I finally finished the I-Spy Quilt for my cousin's baby!  You can read more about it HERE.

Now I'm trying to finish up the Linen Afghan that I've had in the works for about a year!  It is intended for one of the hubby's coworkers.  I would like to get it finished up before Christmas.  I "think" I should only have about 1-2 weeks work left on it, so I'm hoping!

I'm absolutely LOVING this weather!  The cool, crisp air is my favorite :)

On today's to-do list: 

Kaylee and Shawn are moving into their new house this week.  We'll be helping them transfer belongings, paint and whatever else they need us to do this week!

Otherwise it is a pretty normal week.

We do have a wedding to attend on Saturday.  A cousin on my Dad's side of the family is getting married at a Farm wedding venue.  I'm pretty excited to check the place out!

Currently reading:

Nothing.  I've been intending on reading at least 30 minutes a day for the past month and I've read nothing at all.  Things have just been so up in the air recently and I haven't been in the head-space to dig into a story.

In my very literal "craft basket" is the I-Spy Quilt I am making for my cousin's baby due in December.  I have all the charms sewn together and am in the process of hand-quilting it.  The parents-to-be aren't telling anyone the name of baby girl, so for now I'll be just call it the I-Spy Quilt.

Gorgeous weather this week!  I can definitely tell Fall is coming :)

On today's to-do list: 

Today I spent some time decluttering.  I worked on Laken's desk and got it organized.  It was a huge mess from when she cleaned out her bookbag from last year to get it ready for this school year.  I had to sort through papers, pictures, binders, etc.  It looks so much better now and Laken can actually use it to sit down and do school work!

Mom and Dad did the grocery shopping this week as they had to make a trip to "town" anyway, so I got out of doing that this week :)

It is a pretty normal week except for some appts on Friday.

I finally finished Kaylee and Shawn's Wedding Afghan!  It felt nice to finish a project.

Also, I decided to pick my quilting needle back up!  The hubby bought me a new sewing machine for our anniversary.  My old one broke years ago.  I ordered some novelty squares to make an I-Spy Quilt for my cousin's baby that is due at the end of December.  I'm excited to get back into sewing!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend :)

The weather outside is:

The weather over the weekend was chilly and rainy.  I was hoping for the nice weather that was predicted for today so that we could celebrate Memorial  Day and remember those who died so that we could have our freedom.  I'm looking forward to that 80F weather come the weekend.

On today's to-do list: 

I'm getting this post up late so I'll tell you what I've already done today.

We spent the morning getting laundry finished, cleaning the family room and bedroom, going out to eat for lunch, relaxing and going to the Lake in the evening.

I started a Summer Self-Improvement Challenge today that lasts until Labor Day.  It is hosted by Diva and the Divine over on youtube.  Click HERE for the details.  I met all my daily goals for the challenge!  Yay, me!

Happening this week:

Kaylee and Shawn's wedding is fast approaching so I want to get all the invitation sent out this week.  The majority of them will go out Tuesday but we still need a few addresses.

Laken is out of school for the Summer!  Wednesday was her last day as a Middle School Student.  She is now in High School!  I don't know how the time flies so quickly...

The hubby is working first shift (daylight) this wee and had a nice long weekend that was much needed.

As for me, I'll be watching Annalea from 8am-3pm and then working to meet all my above-mentioned Summer Self-Improvement Challenge goals :)

Currently reading:

I started "Aloha Hideaway Inn" by Elana Johnson today at the Lake.  One of my goals for the Summer is to get back into reading.  I picked this book to kick things off because it is set in Hawaii :)  So far it is intriguing and the writing is very good.

On the TV:

I haven't watched TV in weeks!  That will change this coming weekend because "Raya" is coming to Disney+ on June 4th.  We opted not to spend the extra money to watch it as a premiere so we're looking forward to seeing it this Friday or Saturday.  It has been a long time since we've had a Family Movie Night.  Too long!

This week I featured "Help Is On The Way" by TobyMac on Songs on Sunday.  I love this song and have listened to it over and over :)

I haven't been crafting a lot lately.  I did manage to tie the ends in on Kaylee's and Shawn's Afghan that I'm making for the Wedding Shower.  But that was only on the 17 squares I have completed.  I still need to crochet 16 squares, crochet them all together and then crochet the border.  All before the shower in July!

Beautiful!  And the week ahead looks great :)

On today's to-do list: 

I'm getting this post up late so I'll tell you what I've already done today.

Laken is on Easter Break until Wednesday but she had Track & Field practice this afternoon.  While she was at practice, the hubby and I went grocery shopping for the week ahead.  The first bill for our new-to-us Nissan Rogue came in the mail so I spent some time setting up the banking information and making that first payment.

I still need to read my devotions and exercise...

Happening this week:

Tomorrow is Laken's first T&F Meet.  I appears that she will be on the throwing team with the discus and the javelin and possibly the shotput.

Wednesday evening is a Parent's Meeting for all the 8th grade parents to discuss scheduling for next year.  I can't believe my baby is going to be in High School!

The sale at Kaylee's work is over and so is the overtime, I think.  She enjoyed her long weekend.

The hubby is on third shift this week.  He managed to somehow tweak his knee putting together a swing set for the kids at Church.  He has no idea how he did it...  Hubby also finally goes to the eye doctor for new glasses on Thursday.  He's overdue.

I'm still getting ready to start reading "What to Do With a Mad Marquess" by Ivy Hart.

On the TV:

We started watching the series "Clarice" and are enjoying it.  We're anxiously awaiting new episodes of The Prodigal Son.

Check out my "The Good Stuff" post from last Friday!  Kaylee is getting MARRIED!!!!  No definite plans are in place yet but I'm so EXCITED :)

The weather outside is:

The weather is looking quite lovely for the week although it is a bit cooler toward the end of the week.  The wind has been outrageous.  I guess March is going out like a lion!

On today's to-do list: 

The usual suspects.  Groceries, devotions, exercise, blogging and catching up from the weekend.

Also today (Monday) is my little cousin Dex's 9th Birthday!  Happy Birthday, Dex!

Happening this week:

It is a pretty ordinary week ahead.  Laken is playing catch-up with her school work after missing a few days due to being sick.  Kaylee is still working overtime due to REI's annual sales.  The hubby was off last Thursday and Friday and off again this Friday for Good Friday.  Laken will be off Thursday through Wednesday for Easter break.

We'll be coloring eggs and getting candy this coming weekend.  I can't wait for the Carrot Cake :)

Thank the Lord that Laken is back in school full-time starting today!  Some kids might excel and thrive with virtual schooling but Laken is not one of them.  She excels but does not thrive.  It is a delicate balance for a 14 year old psyche as it is.  She need some normalcy in her life.

Kaylee and I both have check-ups this week.

The hubby is on second shift, my least favorite...

Hello, and Happy Monday!

We made it through January 2021!  Happy February :)

The weather outside is:

Snow.  Snow.  Snow.  Snow.  SNOW!  (If you've ever seen "White Christmas" you know the tune I'm singing to...)  I've heard that we're supposed to get anywhere from 6 inches to 24 inches!  lol  As I'm writing this Sunday afternoon, we've gotten about 3 inches so far and it seems to have just started.  Please pray for safety for all those who have to travel in this nasty weather.

On today's to-do list: 

Due to the impending snow storm, we went for groceries Saturday morning.  The stores were nuts!  I guess we were right there with them, though :)  So my to-do list is to stay in and stay warm!

Happening this week:

Laken's birthday is Tuesday.  She turns 14 years old!  I can't believe my baby is 14!  Laken is "in-school" this week.  Kaylee is working her normal 2nd shift and Doug is working 3rd shift.  Other than Laken's birthday and a doctor's appointment, it is a pretty normal week...

Currently reading:

Last week I read "Panning For Love" by Meg Cross Wenig and loved it!  Now I'm getting ready to read "The Ace of Hearts" by Ashtyn Newbold, a new-to-me author.

On the TV:

NCIS (the original) ~I didn't realize that NCIS with Mark Harmon (my favorite) was back on and had a few episodes to catch up on.  SPOILER ALERT!!  Ellie and Torres!  Things are going to get interesting :)

The Prodigal Son ~ Did you see this week's episode?  Oh my!  It was creepier than usual and that is saying something!  lol  My favorite new(er) show!

Walker, Texas Ranger ~ This is a reboot of the CW.  I've seen the Pilot so far and it was really intriguing.  I'll definitely be watching more!

The Little Things ~ This is a new movie that became available at the theater and on HBO Max Friday.  We saw the preview for it last week and anxiously awaited the release date.  It was a drama/crime/psychological (I don't really know how to describe it...) movie.  I was sometimes confused?  I didn't know if it was confusion or just me trying to figure out what was going to happen next.  The acting was amazing.  Of course, Denzel Washington starred in the movie so, you know, it was good!

The weather outside is:

VERY cold!  And we're supposed to get snow accumulation today and throughout the week.  I hate the thought of Kaylee and the Hubby driving in bad weather to and from work :(

On today's to-do list: 

I need to get groceries.  I was going to go Saturday evening but just didn't feel like fighting the crowds.  Hopefully I can get to the store and back before the weather gets too bad!  Kaylee is going to go with me.  She has decided that she wants to be in charge of cooking dinner on Saturdays!  See the menu below :)

Happening this week:

Other than the normal (groceries, laundry, housework), Laken has a Dentist appointment.  She was supposed to go last week when the rest of us did, but it was her first week back in school and I didn't want to take her out of school.  This week she is on virtual, so we can easily slip down to the dentist without it effecting her work.

Currently reading:

I read two, yes two, books last week!  "Wyatt" by Susan May Warren and  "The Loneliest Cottage" by Melissa Storm.  That is a record for me lately.  Currently, I'm reading "Panning for Love" by Meg Cross Wenig.

On the TV:

I didn't really watch anything this week.  I have lots to catch up on!  It is all DVR'd.

Listening to:

The weather outside is:

We got some rain on Friday which we need desperately.  It then turned to snow but we only got enough to cover the ground.  I haven't looked at the weather for this week yet.

On today's to-do list: 

I'm getting back onto my normal schedule of going for groceries on Monday mornings.  It isn't nearly as crowded in the store as it is on Saturday.

Happening this week:

Laken goes back to face-to-face school on Tuesday.  She's excited about seeing her friends, but she is going to be a bear to get up at 6am after sleeping in everyday for well over a month.  Conditioning for Track & Field is also starting (optional) but she hasn't decided yet if she is going to go this early in the year.  For some reason, she thinks she doesn't need it!  Ha!  Being schooled virtually, she's barely gotten out of her bed or off the couch during the day.  I'll let it up to her but I'm pushing for it!

We have dental appointments this week also.  The hubby is on second shift as is Kaylee, so their appointments are in the morning.  Mine isn't scheduled until afternoon.  I had to change Laken's appointment until next week as I wasn't about to take her out of school on her first day back.

Currently reading:

I'm still reading "Wyatt" and it is so good!  I wish I had time to sit and read it from e-cover to e-cover!  But, alas there are things such as laundry to fold and dinner to make...

On the TV:

The Prodigal Son!!!! ~ It is back!  I'm so excited!  I was at my computer desk and the hubby asked me if I wanted to watch TV.  I was about to say "no thanks" and then he told me what we were going to watch.  I wasn't sure if it was coming back on this year.  Last season was SO good!!  Definitely my favorite TV show right now :)

Call Me Kat ~ I gave it a second chance and am still on the fence!  I don't enjoy the bits where Kat talks to the camera.  I'll give it one more episode before I make my final decision on whether to keep watching or not.

Masked Dancer ~ My husband was watching this show and I think it just might be the dumbest show I've ever watched!  I thought Masked Singer was bad but, no!  Masked Dancer has it beat.  If you like either of these shows, I don't mean to offend, but they are just not for me!
