Hanging Kitchen Towel Project

I don't know about you, but I love having a Hanging Kitchen Towel at my fingertips while cooking.  So does my sweet Aunt Sherry.  Hers were so well-loved that she said they weren't fit for the rag bag.

She asked me if I would make some for her.  I said, "Of course!".  She had already bought the towels.  I guess she anticipated my answer!

So here are the towels before:

And here are the towels after:

Only one end of the solid towel had the stripe, so one of each color is just solid at the bottom.  My aunt has MS so velcro was the way to go for closures.

These were so easy to make.  Now I need to make myself some.  Mine current ones aren't fit for the rag bag either!

It only took me about 1 hour to construct all four Hanging Kitchen Towels.  Super easy!

If anyone is interested in a tutuorial, let me know and I can put one together.

  1. So cute! Umm...I would love a tutorial, if this would be a good one for the sewing challenged. :) I got a sewing machine for Christmas last year (never used one in my life), and have only been able to make a BBQ apron for my DH. It is the ugliest stitching you have ever seen! I really want to learn how to sew! :) Thanks for sharing.

  3. A tutorial would be lovely, even to an experienced seamstree, so I wouldn't have to do the thinking. (Is that lazy or just time effecient?!) I, too, see Christmas gifts in the making. Thanks for sharing on Raising Homemakers.

  4. I crochet tops to the towels. This is great for solids! Any chance of sharing the pattern? Thanks.

  10. I would like to see a tutorial. Maybe you could make an easy printable of the top so we could print it and use it as a pattern. These would make nice Christmas gifts.
    Blessings,

  11. Oh how cute! I love hanging towels but I don't sew.

My friend always cooks with a towel draped over her shoulder, so I think lots of people like a towel handy.

Thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday!
