Q: What is your favorite book with a "winter" world?

I can't think of any with a "winter" world, but there are many that are set in winter.  One of my all time favorites is the classic "Little Women".



Lately, I've been reading Christmassy books and a fun one was "Love Finds You In Frost, Minnesota".  It was a good read with lots of winter  :)

Feature and Follow ~ Scary Stories ~ 11/18/16

 

 

 

Q: What is your favorite scary story?

I actually do NOT like scary stories AT ALL!

They creep me out and have me looking over my shoulder for days if not weeks!

I get this tingly feeling like something or someone is watching me.

Basically, I avoid them at all cost :)

The closest I come is a good suspense novel.

Q: What are your favorite childhood stories? (children's books, nursery rhymes, etc.)

Ohh, I love this question.  Takes me back memory lane!

"Little Women" was one of my first favorites.



"Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" was the first book that made me cry and I love it!



Another favorite that I remember getting from Scholastic Book Orders is "Charlotte Sometimes".  Sigh!  Love it, too!



These books are still on my bookshelf in my childhood bedroom.  I couldn't bear to part with them.

Q: What are some of your favorite creepy/twisted/dark covers?

I'll be honest.

I don't like creepy, twisted or dark reads.

They spook me and have me looking over my shoulder for days, so I tend to stay away from them.

Q: What are the most important qualities of a book boyfriend?

I like when the hero of a book is masculine yet romantic.

But not so romantic that it seems fake and makes me want to punch my husband for not being romantic at all!  Does anyone else have that problem or am I the only one????

Feature & Follow ~ Character Names ~ 10/14/16

 

 

Q: What are some of your favorite, hated, or memorable character names?

I LOVE names!  I've been known to frequent www.babynames.com just to vote on "Name of the Day" even though my youngest daughter is 9 years old.  This questions is a great one!

Off the top of my head, I can think of one very overused name.  "RAFE".  I recently read a book where "Rafe" was the hero.  It was by no mean the first time I've read a book with that name.  Come on writers, think up a new hero name!

One name that annoyed me while reading was "JESSAMINE".  It just didn't flow and they NEVER called her "Jess" to make it a bit less stuffy.  I think it is a pretty name but not when you have to read it 50 billion times over the course of a book.

One of my favorite names was "COLLETTE".  I'll admit that it was because the name is SO close to mine and I never, I mean NEVER see anything with my name on it.

I can't wait to see some of the other blogger's hated names :)

My biggest hobby besides reading is BLOGGING!!!

I've been blogging for about 5 years now and have such a good time with it.  My blog is about a little bit of everything.  I recently started a Facebook Page for my blog and I'm having fun with that too!

We have two dogs.  Lilah is our well-behaved Black Lab.  She is a big sweetheart.  Jasmine is our little mouthy York-a-Pom.  She likes to cuddle and is very protective.

We also have 3 rabbits.  Prince Poppycock and Princess Charlotte are Lionheads.  Little Joe is a Floppy Eared Bunny.

Q: If you could choose one supernatural creature/being to really exist, what would it be and why?

At first I thought about skipping this week's questions, because I'm really not that into supernatural creatures and couldn't think of ANY that I would want to be real.  Too creepy!  Then I started thinking a little more in a harmless, fairytale way.

So, I'm going to say a flying horse or unicorn such as Pegasus.  My girls would LOVE that :)  I just might have to overcome my trepidation with horses and go for a ride!

Q: What book do you think everyone should read if you could gift the entire population with one book?

I hope there are a lot of people who their first thought would be the Bible.  The Bible is definitely the book I would like to gift the entire population with.  The problem would be in getting them to actually read it.  Which is so much not a laughing matter.

Q: What have you learned from book blogging that you didn’t know before about the publishing industry?

I've learned so much!  I learned that I can actually interact with authors which is so much fun.  I've also learned about ARC's.  I had no idea that publishers, authors etc., gave books out in exchange for reviews.  Ive also learned how self-publishing has really taken off.  I get so many requests from self-published authors.  I've gotten very picky in accepting requests for reviews.

Q: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you’ve read and loved?

I just didn't like this cover.  I think it is the lime green and pepto pink.  And the color of her face.  What is up with that.

BUT, I loved the book!  It was a great read!

Q.  What is your favorite thing about blogging?

   
I have a few thing about blogging that I love and are my favorites.

1.  Being able to look back and see what I've read and what was going on in my life.  I love history and looking back on my blog is like looking back on MY history.

2.  The community.  Being able to "talk" to other about the same things I'm interested in.  I don't really have anyone in my life that gushes over books the way I do :)

3.  Comments!  I get so excited when I see that someone has commented on a post.  It shows me that people are actually reading my blog and also gives me a chance to interact even more.

I could probably go on and on, but I'll stop there.
