Sewing Saturday ~ Merry Christmas ~ 12/25/2021

I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.

~~~~~~~~
MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY, EVERYONE!!!
I didn't get much done on the Sage Afghan this week.  (Read that as I didn't even pick it up!)  I was so busy with Christmas preparations and when I was done with that I was exhausted.  I almost didn't make a Sewing Saturday post, but I wanted to go ahead and mark the day here on the blog :)
Here is where I started the week:
And that is also where I finished...
We're sitting down now to watch "Encanto" so I'll be picking up the hook this evening to work on getting some rows done.  I'm enjoying the process and the Holidays!
What project are you working on this weekend?
Tuesday 4 ~ Christmas ~ 12/21/2021
https://mytuesday4meme.blogspot.com/
Head over to Tuesday's Place for the questions and to visit everyone's answers!
1. Is your tree up? How tall... what color lights? Is there a color scheme you use?
Our Christmas Tree has been up since the weekend after Thanksgiving.  The tree itself is 6 feet and the lights are multi-colored.  We don't have a color scheme.  We do have our memorable Christmas ornaments on the tree though.
2.  Got a menu for Christmas Eve and Day?
On Christmas Eve, we'll be going to my brother's house so it is pretty much their show :)  Christmas Day, we're having ham and deer roast, mashed potatoes and the sides along with pie :)
3. When does it go up and how long does it stay up?
I guess this means the tree???  If so, then it goes up right after Thanksgiving and comes down right after New Year's Day.
4. What is your favorite Christmas memory. When do you open your gifts?
I don't know if I have a favorite Christmas memory.  There are too many good ones to pick just one!  We open the majority of our gifts on Christmas morning after reading the account of Jesus's birth in Luke 2.
Happy Homemaker Monday ~ 12/13/2021
Come join Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello, and Happy Monday !

New Around Here:

"Kindred Readers Book Club" now has 20 members which I think is FANTASIC!  Our first book is going to be "Year of Yes" by Shonda Rhimes.   We'll start reading the first week of January 2022.  If you're interested in joining in, please come on over and do so!  You just need to join the group and get your book :)

I have 1195 GFC followers of Colletta's Kitchen Sink!  Only 5 more to reach the 1200 milestone.  If you're not already following, won't you please hit the follow button?  It would make my day :)

The weather outside is:

We didn't get the snow that the weather was calling for last week.  We did get just a light layer of snow early Wednesday morning but it was gone by afternoon.

The weather has been so crazy the past few days.  It has fluctuated from 61F Saturday afternoon to just 30F Sunday evening.  I may be ready for Christmas, but I don't know if I'm ready for the cold!

On today's to-do list:

I don't have much going on Monday except for grocery shopping which is my normal Monday errand (chore).

Happening this week:

I'm excited to have our first Christmas Party Tuesday evening.  It is for our Church Ladies Group that meets once a month.  We'll have lots of food, devotions and a jingle gift!

Other than that, it is a pretty normal week ending with Shawn's birthday on Saturday.  I'm not sure what we're doing to celebrate but I'm sure it will be something fun :)

The hubby is on third shift this week.  He works 5 days this week and then only has 2 days next week.   After that he's on vacation until after the New Year!

Currently reading:

I actually finished a Christmas book last week called "The Christmas Escape" by Sarah Morgan.  It was so good!  You can CLICK HERE to go read my review.  Right now I'm reading another Christmas book called "Christmas at Cozy Holly Inn" by Meredith Summers.  I've just started getting into to it and so far so good :)

On the TV:

Hallmark Christmas Movies!!!!  Yay!!!!

Listening to:

This week for "Songs on Sunday" I featured "Noel" by Chris Tomlin and Lauren Daigle.  I hope you'll check it out :)

On the menu week:

I haven't worked on the menu yet.  I really need to get back into the habit of working on the menu over the weekend instead of leaving it until Monday morning before getting groceries!

Monday ~

Wednesday ~
Thursday -
Friday ~
Saturday ~
Sunday ~ Potluck at Church

In the Craft Basket:

The Sage Afghan I'm working on has over doubled in size since last week at this time.  I've used one complete "One Pound" Caron yarn.  I bought 4 skeins of this yarn but think I might only need to use 3 skeins.  I'll see if it is the right size and then decide whether to use the 4th.  Again, this is the Attic 24 Cozy Stripes pattern.

Memory Verse

While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock at night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. 10 And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;  Luke 2:6-10

Have a great Monday!

The Good Stuff ~ 12/2/2021

~~~~~~~~
~Noodle Making!  My Mom and Laken have a tradition of making homemade noodles for Thanksgiving.  Laken is very set on keeping traditions and would have been very upset without her noodles :)
~My Mighty Hunter!  Saturday, Deer Season came in here in Pennsylvania.  The hubby finally had some time to go for a "walk" in the woods Monday and soon came home with his bounty, an 8 point buck.  I won't add any pictures in honor of those who have sensibilities regarding hunting and the like but I will say that the hubby was a bit pleased with himself :)
~A Sale!  Saturday evening I couldn't stand it any longer and HAD to get out of the house!  I went to Ollies to see if they had anything good (which they didn't).  Then I went right down the plaza to Joann Fabrics.  I wandered around feeling the fabric but what I ended up buying was some yarn for my next crochet project.  The best part is that it was 60% off!
~Our Christmas Tree!  Monday afternoon Kaylee and Shawn came over (along with Dahlia) and we decorated our little Christmas Tree.  It was bitter sweet because the ornaments that we've collected over the years for Kaylee went into a box to be taken to her house and put on her very first tree as a married woman.  I wonder how they'll keep Dahlia out of the tree???!! :)
~Laken's Ornament!  Speaking of the ornament tradition, we gave Laken her 2021 Christmas Ornament when we decorated the tree.  We got her a globe ornament!  It is a bit of a running family joke because Laken didn't think there were any countries on the back of the globe.  She thought it was all water for the longest time.  We were going to get her an actual globe for Christmas, but when we saw this ornament we knew we had to get it for her :)
~December Bible Reading!  I'm so excited that it is December!  I'm also excited that today I turned the page in my Read the Bible Through in a Year to December 1st!  My Aunt, Mom and I have been reading together and meeting to discuss what we've read mostly once a week.  Each milestone, we've celebrated.  Only 30 more days to go and we'll be starting a new reading plan :)
What has you thankful/smiling/exited this week?  Tell me all the good stuff!
