Saturday 9 ~ Cat's In the Cradle ~ 6/16/18

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cat's In the Cradle (1974)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This song began as a poem, written by Harry's wife Sandy before the couple even met. Have you ever tried your hand at writing poetry?
I am horrible at poetry.  I remember having to write a poem in English Class.  I wrote about ice-cream.  Horrible!
2) The lyrics include a reference to "The Man in the Moon." The original Mother Goose rhyme ends: "It's time for the children on earth to think about getting to bed." Do you remember what time your childhood bedtime was?
I vividly remember having to go to bed at 9pm.  I was probably about 10 or so.
3)  When did you go to bed last night?
Around 11pm-ish.
4) In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson signed the proclamation that made Father's Day a holiday on the third Sunday in June. Can you name all 45 Presidents? (No, you don't have to list them here.)
No.  I'm sure at one point I had to learn them all but I have long forgotten the memorization.
5) Since Sam's father is particular about his Cole Haan loafers, her Father's Day present to him is always a DSW gift card. Who on your gift list is especially easy to buy for?
I always get my Dad his fishing license so he can go out and enjoy spending time fishing.
6) Sam's father is a voracious reader. So much so that the local librarian knows him on sight and by name. When did you last visit your neighborhood library?
I just went to the my neighborhood library on Monday :)
7) Back when Sam was in high school, her father gave her driving lessons. Do you consider yourself a good driver?
 I'm reluctant to jinx myself, but yes, I think I'm a goo driver :)
8) He is a stickler about car maintenance and reminds Sam to check her car's air filter regularly, because a dirty air filter can reduce mileage. Share your own car maintenance tip.
The hubby is in charge of the car maintenance in our family.  My best tip is "Don't run out of gas!"
9) Whenever he fills up the car, Sam's father also stocks up on his favorite candy: LifeSavers. So Sam is celebrating Father's Day by giving everyone a roll. Would you prefer Wild Cherry, Butter Rum, Winter Green or Peppermint?
Ohhhh....  That would be a toss up between Wild Cherry and Butter Rum!
Please leave a comment with a link so I can return the visit!
  2. Great gift idea for your Dad. And your driving tip also. I have never run out of gas and hope I never do. It always amazes me that people don't just keep the car full or at least judge how far they can go on what they have.
  3. I'm one of those people who top the tank off as soon as it hits 3/4 full. I can't stand to see it drop below a 1/2 tank of gas. I mean, what if there's an apocalypse and I need to skedaddle to avoid the zombies?
  4. My dad always loved fishing, he used to be out on the lake at dawn and then go out at dusk until age got the better of him.
  5. That is a very good tip... "Don't run out of gas!"
    That's a nice thing to do for your Dad. We used to go trout and surf fishing all the time when the kids were little.
    1. Unfortunately, I tend to wait until the last minute to pull into the gas station and am always close to "E"!
  6. That's a good tip that my husband should listen to. He is the king of running out due his loathing of having to pay the ridiculous prices at the pump. I have had to take a can of gas and rescue him far too many times.
