Weigh-In Wednesday ~ Week 2 ~ 1/6/16

Commit whatever you do to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was a good week.  We made it to the gym on every scheduled day.  Even early New Year's Day before a family dinner at my aunt's house.
I've mainly been doing cardio on the treadmill and bike.  Doug (the hubby) has been doing a bit of treadmill to warm-up and then lifting.  It still seems a bit strange for him to be on the treadmill next to me!
I love going to the gym together.  I never would have imagined the difference it makes.  Going by myself was such a chore.  Going with Doug feels like a date!
Doug's goal is to gain weight and muscle.  My goal is to lose weight.  That makes eating a bit more difficult.  I get to watch him pile it in as much as he wants and then I get to drink a shake.  It seems so unfair sometimes but that is what I have to do to reach my goal.  I need to keep that in mind.
I'm still working on portion control and snacking:  my major downfalls.  I have gotten better this week.  It helped getting all the Christmas cookies out of the house.  And the fudge.  Oh, the fudge!  I better change the subject...
I still hope to work in some exercise on the days we don't go to the gym.  I have a treadmill and Doug is getting a stationary bike off someone he works with.  Hopefully, I'll use them at home.  It is just so easy to find other things to do when I'm at home.
The good news is that I lost a pound this week!  That puts me below my starting weight from before the holidays!  A small victory, but a victory none-the-less.  It gives me some encouragement to stick to it and be persistent.  Exactly what I needed :)
My week's stats:
Miles:  15
Total Miles:  20
lbs lost: -1
Total lost:  -0.2
  1. It's so nice that your husband goes to the gym with you. My husband would not go because he enjoys working out at home. If only I could do things that way! I totally sympathize with the "he eats everything and I get a shake" thing :) I hope you have much success with your journey in the coming year!
  3. My husband is my favorite workout partner. Run dates are our day date of choice.
