A Musing ~ Re-reading ~ 8/19/12

Each week Miz B at Should Be Reading asks a bookish question to muse over.

This week's musing:

"Have you ever re-read a book and found that your opinion changed?"

I think I can answer this questions with a no.  I don't like to re-read books, even the ones that I really, really liked.  Once I've read them, I'm done and pass them along to the next reader.

The other day, I saw someone pose a question as to why they don't like to re-read a book but will watch movies over and over.  The same is true for me.  I've watched some of my favorite movies so many times I've lost count!

What is your opinion on this?

Musing along,

  1. Yeah, I'm not a huge rereader either.

  2. Interesting about the movie re-watching but not book re-reading. I hadn't thought of that. I'm not much of a re-reader, either.

  3. I guess I'm in the minority, I enjoy re-reading and it's one of my criteria for a good fiction book. I do watch movies over and over again.

As for the original question, yes, I have found with some books that my opinion changes upon re-reading. It's been just a few times, but it's happened.
