Sewing Saturday (on Sunday) ~ 3/20/2022

I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.

~~~~~~~~
I'm going to try to sew at least one block a week in the Pat Sloan sew-along called "Sweet Dreams". I'm using the fabrics below:
~~~~~~~~~~

The 10th Block  of the Sweet Dreams Sew Along is actually a border called:  Pastries.

The week before I accidentally misunderstood and thought we were to put the outside borders on.  The inside dark gray border was fine but the outer light border was not.  Needless to say, I had a date with my seem ripper.

The border that was supposed to be put on was actually a pieced flying geese border.  I debated leaving the light gray and just moving on but I just couldn't!

I am so happy with how it turned out and so glad I took the time to rip off the light gray border and replace it with what the pattern intended.

My favorite pastry is a Cinnamon Roll with Peanut Butter Icing!  Yummm...

Sewing Saturday ~ 3/5/2022 ~ Dessert Bread

I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.

I'm going to try to sew at least one block a week in the Pat Sloan sew-along called "Sweet Dreams". I'm using the fabrics below:

Here is my version of the 8th Sweet Dreams Block:  Dessert Bread

I like to cut out the pieces and then take a picture of the "before" :)

And this is the "after"!

This block took me a bit to figure out the layout and how I wanted it to look.  I needed to use some of the darker gray to balance out the center of the quilt.

I love how it turned out!  Only one more block to go and then I can sew the 9-Patch (blocks) center together.

My favorite Dessert Bread is Banana Nut Bread OR Chocolate Zucchini Bread :)

Sewing Saturday ~ 2/26/2022 ~ Pie Pie Pie!

Here is my version of the 7th Sweet Dreams Block:  Pie Pie Pie!

It was fairly easy to plan out the colors and piece it together.

The center of the quilt is going to be the first 9 (9.5 inch) squares.  I can't wait to sew them together to see how they look!

My favorite pie is probably PECAN Pie :)  So good!

Sewing Saturday ~ 2/12/2022 ~ Angel Food Cake

I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.

~~~~~~~~
I'm going to try to sew at least one block a week in the Pat Sloan sew-along called "Sweet Dreams". I'm using the fabrics below:
The first block was called Brownie Love and I loved piecing it!
The second block was Boston Cream Pie and it gave me fits.
The third block is called "Angel Food Cake".  Yummy!
It was easy to decide the placement because I have 3 reds and 3 blues and needed 6 rows.  Yay!  It worked out simply for me :)
This block was super easy to piece.  I can see why some people who are sewing along have made entire quilts from this one block pattern.
I love the simplicity of the heart and so appropriate for this time of year!
This is definitely a block I can see myself making again :)
Sewing Saturday ~ 2/5/2022 ~ Boston Cream Pie
I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.
~~~~~~~~

I'm going to try to sew at least one block a week in the Pat Sloan sew-along called "Sweet Dreams". I'm using the fabrics below:

The first block from last week was called Brownie Love and I loved piecing it!  Piece of cake :)

The second block is called Boston Cream Pie, which I'm not overly fond of...

I should have known this block would give me fits!  I almost had to walk away and come back to it another day!  But, it was Friday Night With Friends and I wanted to participate :(

I think one of my main problems is that I was in a rush and that is when mistakes happen.  Mistakes in measuring, cutting, piecing, etc., etc., etc.

And then when I had ***1*** seam left to sew, I ran out of bobbin thread!  Argh!

I'm not totally in love with my fabric placement, but it is done and that is what matters most.

In all, this was NOT easy as pie!  At least for me....

Sewing Saturday ~ 1/29/2022 ~ Brownie Love

I'm going to be featuring my sewing, crocheting and crafting projects on Saturdays.  Some weeks this will include a finished project, a FNSI or FNWF or just a WIP.

~~~~~~~~
I decided that I am going to go ahead and join in the Pat Sloan sew-along called "Sweet Dreams".  I picked the following fabrics to use back before Christmas when I got the fabric for 50% off!  whoohooo!
The first block is called "Brownie Love".  Each block name will be featuring something sweet but the block pattern will NOT be literal.  It took me a while to decide my fabric placement.
After finally deciding what fabric I wanted to use in this block and where, it was easy-peasy to sew up.  Pat has such great patterns and directions!
And here is the final block.  I still have 3 blocks to piece in order to catch-up by Wednesday when the new block releases, but I'm in no rush.  One at a time :)
