Thankful Thursday ~ 1/21/2021

Here are some things that made me thankful/smile/excited this week:

~~~~~~~~
~Skipbo!  After our Friday night Bible Study, we stayed a little longer at my Aunt Donna and Uncle Charlie's and played Skipbo.  It was the first time they played so it was fun teaching them a new game :)
~Steph's Birthday and a Name!  Saturday was my cousin's (more like a sister) birthday!  Her third baby is due April 5th and she's having a girl!  The baby's name is going to be Annalea (Steph's middle name is Lea pronounced Lee).  Steph and her hubby are still trying to decide whether to pronounce Annalea as 1.  An-uh-lee or 2.  An-uh-lee-uh  .  She's polling everyone on what they like.  So which way would you say Annalea?  BTW, the middle name is going to most likely be Marie after the baby's grandmother.
~Family Room Rearrangement!  We once again rearranged the Family Room.  My desk area wasn't touched so I'm happy with how it turned out.  It is always a little strange getting used to a new arrangement.  Do you like to rearrange your furniture or do you like to keep the same arrangement you always had?
~New Followers!  I've recently acquired some new blog followers and I love the feeling that someone is actually reading what I write :)
~Three Things on Thursday!  I resurrected an old feature here on the blog called "Three on Thursday".  The idea is to list three things that have something in common such as "Three Reasons I Love My Hubby" or "Three of My Favorite Books".  I'll still be posting my Thankful Thursday but I'd love for you to also join in with a "Three on Thursday" of your own!  You can read today's post HERE!
Thankful Thursday ~ 11/19/2020
Here are some things that made me thankful/smile/excited this week:
~~~~~~~~

~ Mom's Birthday!  Saturday the 14th was my Mom's birthday!  I won't tell you how old she is and I won't put a picture of her as she doesn't like pictures of herself on the "internet".  However, we did celebrate and had a good time.  I am truly blessed to have her as a Mom :)

~It's a GIRL!  I mentioned a few weeks ago that my cousin, Steph, is expecting her third little one.  She found out last Friday that she is indeed having a girl!  That will make 2 boy and 1 girl for her and her hubby.  I'm so excited! :):):)

~The HoHoHo Read-a-Thon!  This read-a-thon is starting today.  There is still time to get into the holiday spirit and join in.  I downloaded at least 5 Christmassy books so be on the lookout for the reviews in the near future :)

~Goodreads 2020 Challenge Complete!  That is pretty self-explanatory but I did it!  I actually finished a challenge!  Granted I set my goal fairly low at 26 books for the year of 2020 but still...not too shabby :)

~Getting back on a schedule!  I'm a schedule kinda girl and faithfully keep my agenda written out and up-to-date.  The past few weeks have been a bit crazy and I had to "adjust" many items on my to-do list.  I'm thankful that this week has gotten back on track and I'm marking items off that list :)

Thankful Thursday ~ 11/5/2020

Here are some things that made me thankful/smile this week:

~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Health!  First and foremost, I'm thankful that me and mine have all stayed healthy during these crazy times.  I pray everyday over my family for safety and health.  How has your family fared?
~A Baby!  My cousin, Steph, told us recently that they will be blessed with a surprise addition to their family on (or about) April 5, 2021.  She already has 2 boys ages 8 and 3, so I'm secretly hoping for a little girl!  I see so many cute baby girl clothes and I'm ready to start spoiling :)
~November!  Personally, I love turning to a new page on the calendar.  Not only is it a new month, it is NOVEMBER!  How did this year fly by so fast yet drag on so slowly at the same time.  I can't believe that it is time to start planning the Holidays.  But, we did get some snow flurries in the beginning of the week so I guess I can start getting in the Thanksgiving/Christmas spirit :)
~Dusty!  We found a little baby kitten under our front porch.  We have outside cats but none of them are the mother so we can only assume that either someone dropped it off at our house or one of our cats "stole" it from somewhere and brought it home!  It is a little gray fluff ball and looks so much like a dust bunny that we named it "Dusty".  We took it to the vet for a look-over last Friday.  She said that Dusty is probably only about 4 weeks old.  We have her in a box in the Family Room and are feeding it milk replacer, soft food and the medicine given to us at by the vet.  So far, so good :)
~A New Kindle 10!  I mentioned the other day that my laptop died.  I debated getting and ipad but they are SO expensive.  Instead, I got a new, larger Kindle.  I still would like to get a new computer tower to go with my old equipment (montior, keyboard, etc.) so that I can blog easier.  Right now I'm using the hubby's laptop but it acts up quite frequently and annoys me to no end!  I've already put in my request for Christmas :)
What are you thankful for this week?
Wednesday Medley ~ 1/16/19
http://tdorsaneo.blogspot.com/
Come join Terri @ Your Friend From Florida every Wednesday.
Wednesday, January 16th, is National Do Nothing Day!! National Nothing Day was proposed in 1972 by columnist Harold Pullman Coffin. This day has been observed annually since 1973. Of course, the way to celebrate it is to do nothing!
1.  To commemorate Do Nothing Day in SOME way, tell us something about your life (or the life of someone close to you) in 1973!!
I wasn't born until 1978...so...my mother was a Senior in High School in 1973.  By 1973, my father had gotten out of the Army and was working as a Master Tire Builder.
2.  Now that we are thinking back, please tell us what your favorite past time was as a child.
Reading!  And it still is :)
3.  What is the best way to cheer you up on a bad day?
Snuggles and lovin's always cheer me up on a bad day!
4.  How old were you when you first started dating? Do you remember your first date?
My first date was when I was probably 19 or so.  I remember my first date although I'd rather forget it and focus on my first date with the hubby...
5.  Today is also National Fig Newton day.  Do you like figs/Fig Newtons?
I could choke one down if I had to but I'd rather not!  lol
6.  Tell us something random about your week.
Today is my cousin's 31st birthday!  She's more like a sister to me than a cousin.  Happy Birthday, Steph!
Tea Time (aka Coffee Date) ~ 1/18/13
Won't you come meet Alissa , me and the girls for a coffee date,
or in my case, hot chocolate with whipped cream or maybe a chai tea?
Hello, everyone!  I hope you're having a good week.
~I honestly don't know if I'd have been able to meet up today if it wasn't virtual.  That sick kid that I had home last Friday passed along her flu germs and I have been sick, sick, sick!  Today, I'm drinking hot tea with honey.  I think I'm over the worst of it but still feel soooo draiiiinnnneeeddd...............  I feel like I have limp noodles for limbs.  it hasn't been the best of weeks :(
~My BCF (Best Cousin Forever), Steph, turned 25 on Wednesday!  She says she feels old now.  Ha!  She's still a young whipper snapper.  Although being a mom to a 9 month old does take it out of a girl.  She is such a great mom and is doing a great job with Dex!
~I can't believe I'm going to be 35 years old in 2 months!  The good thing about having a husband who is 10 years older than me is that I always feel young.  Yes, I'm going to 35, but he's going to be 45!  Now, THAT is old!  Just kidding!
~I recently found out that one of my best friends from school who I've been blessed to still be in touch with (we go to the same Church) is expecting a surprise blessing in July!  This is baby #4 for her and came as somewhat of a shock to her and her hubby.  Her youngest started Kindergarten this year and I think they were getting settled in and now will have to start all over.  I'm very excited for her but at the same time I can't help but think "better her than me!"
~Next Saturday is what I'm calling the "Big Reveal"!  My cousin, Eric, and his wife, Michele, are finally going to tell us what sex(es) the twins are!  I can't wait to find out!  It has been killing me to not know!  I can't wait to start crocheting for my newest honorary nieces, nephews, or one of each.  The suspense is almost too much to bear!
~I find that since I've had my hysterectomy and know that I no longer have to worry about going through pregnancy again, that I'm more excited than EVER about new babies.  Before I would think about all the struggles I went through while pregnant and PPD.  Now I just look forward to BABIES!  Holding them, kissing them, snuggling them and giving them back when they get too fussy.  I am loving be an Auntie!
~I'm planning on a quiet, healing weekend.  Some reading, crocheting and maybe a movie or two with the family.  BTW, we watched "Ice Age, Continental Drift" last Friday for Family Movie Night and it was hilarious.  We all loved it!
So, how was your week?  Any big plans for the weekend?
Oh So Thankful ~ 1/17/13
This nasty flu is making the rounds very forcefully through our family.  First, Kaylee was down.  Then Laken went down.  Now, I'm feeling horrible and the hubby is probably next.  It seems like we just got over the last wave of sickness!
I kept Kaylee home from school last Friday.  She was feeling terrible.  I was hoping that a long weekend of rest of would be enough to get her over it.  She pretty much laid around all weekend and even missed a friend's birthday party, so you know it had to be bad.  When she wasn't feeling better Monday, I kept her home and started trying to get her in to see the pediatrician.  The phone rang busy for over 2 hours!  Finally, I got through and they scheduled her for 4:45pm.  It turns out she has bronchitis!  So off to the pharmacy we went and waited 45 minutes to get an antibiotic filled.
When we got home, Doug and Laken were sitting on the couch watching TV.  Laken pretty much stayed in that spot the entire evening until bedtime.  Her feet and hands were hot to the touch which is a first indicator with our girls that they are getting sick.
Needless to say, it wasn't a very restful night.  Doug was working night shift and both girls ended up in bed with me.  Plus the dog...
I remember when I was little, I would always want to sleep in with my parents when I was sick.  Just something about being with them made me feel just a little bit better.  I couldn't turn my girls away so a bed full of germs it was.
Now, both girls are on antibiotics, feeling much better and back in school.  I hate when they are sick and am thankful they are on the mend.
I'll be even more thankful when I'm feeling better, too.
I also want to mention how thankful I am for my BCF (best cousin forever), Steph, who turned the big 2-5 yesterday!  Love ya!
