...that I can barely keep my eyes open right now.

...that I really want to crawl back under the covers.

...because it is only 31 degrees here in PA.

...that I had to defrost the van this morning.

...that said van is running on fumes.

...because I didn't feel like standing in the 31 degrees to get gas.

...to want to wait until it warms up a bit to go for my walk.

...to really not want to go at all.

...for me to just want to curl up on the couch all day.

...to catch up on my DVR'd shows.

...for me to need a down day to relax.

...that it just might be today :)

Its OK ~ Hair-do Day ~ 10/4/12

Its OK

...that it has been 6 months since I got my hair colored and highlighted.

...for me to have 4 inch roots :(

...that I'm anal enough to calculate my average hair growth per month with this "data".

...for me to also calculate my average annual hair growth.

...to arrive at the conclusion that it would take me approximately 1.8 years for my hair to grow to its longest ever.

...to be fighting the temptation to get it cut.

...that today I'm finally getting my color done.

...to ask everybody and anybody if they think I should go solid color or highlights.

...that I probably ask so I can blame them if I don't like it.

...that I won't make up my mind until I'm "in the chair".

...to hope that some new color will curb the "cut it" urge.

...to be excited!

...to be REALLY excited that the new Fall TV shows have started!

...to have a huge DVR list!

...to warn you that there might be spoilers!

...to think Bones looks so much better with dark hair.

...that I liked the show better before Bones and Booth got together.

...that Castle and Beckett are together now too!

...to wonder where it will lead?

...to be so relieved that Ducky on NCIS didn't die!

...to have threatened never to watch NCIS again if Tony had died in the explosion!

...for me to think that Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is hot for an older guy :)

...that I was totally confused for almost the entire episode of NCIS LA.

...for me to have an "aha" moment when it was finally all explained!

...to still swoon over Chris O'Donnell.

...to also swoon over Alex O'Loughlin on Hawaii 5-0!

...that I might skip the housework today to watch Hawaii 5-0 and Revenge on my DVR!

...for Revenge to be my guilty pleasure :)

...to be SO excited for the premiere of Elementary tonight!!!

...that I'm a total TV junky!

...that I'm liking both girls being in school.

...because I'm still healing from my surgery and can just rest during the day.

...that I REALLY can't wait until I can drive again.

...for two more weeks to seem like a really long time.

...to get excited about going to the Dollar Store or the Post Office or the Bank...

...that I'm getting used to the hubby making supper.

...that I'm even wishing I were able to do the laundry (I'm only allowed to fold)!

...that I can watch chick-flicks all day long and not feel guilty about it.

...that I can read all day long and not feel guilty about it.

...that I do feel guilty at all the extra work my hubby has to do.

...that he is pampering me and won't let me do anything (such a sweetheart).

...that my regular schedule will come soon enough.

Its OK

...that it is only the 3rd week of school and my Kindergartener screams like a banshee about getting up in the morning.

...that she screams for a good 30 minutes.

...that I had surgery or I'd probably whoop her butt.

...that at some point she decides to just go along with it.

...that five minutes later she's dancing around the house excited to get on the bus.

...that I breath a sigh of relief when I see her little feet go up the bus steps.

...for me to need a hot cup of tea to sooth myself.

...for me to pray with all my being that this is just a phase.

...that I don't think I can handle going through this every school morning.

...for me to feel bad that my 7th grader has to wake up to the chaos in morning.

...that my 7th grader is actually learning to use some patience with her little sister.

...that maybe it isn't all bad.

...for me to look forward to 3pm so I can see my little banshee.

...that I miss my girls

...that I also enjoy my time alone.

...for us to grow up.

Its OK ~ Back to School ~ 8/30/12

...that my baby girl started Kindergarten on Tuesday.

...that I felt a little lost all day.

...that it is getting harder and harder to get the girls up in the morning.

...to know that it would happen.

...that I now have a child in Junior High!

...to enjoy the quiet time during the day.

...to actually have the house stay clean for more than 20 minutes.

...to look forward to picking the girls up at the end of the school day.

...to not like homework :(

...that getting the girls to be early is getting harder also.

...that I'm going to have to crack the whip!

...that my schedule revolves around my babies :)

...that I wouldn't have it any other way!

...that summer is almost over.

...that we didn't do nearly all that I had planned for us to.

...that Kaylee hasn't been able to take the training wheels off her bike yet.

...that I didn't take the girls to the tennis court to play.

...that I didn't get to go berry picking.

...that I didn't work with Laken on her letters every often.

...that I didn't take the girls to the beach at the lake.

...that we didn't swim EVERY day.

...because we went to Disney World!

...because we relaxed and enjoyed or days!

...because the we love sleeping in!

...because it was a great summer just the way it was :)

...that I had to have pre-op work done this morning.

...that once again, they had trouble finding a "good vein" for bloodwork.

...to not really be in love with my new (but temporary) salmon-colored braclet.

...to be a bit stressed about having some "female" procedures done tomorrow.

...to not want to get up at 6am to be at the hospital by 8am.

...to plan just relaxing this evening so my brain doesn't have a meltdown.

...to ask all of you to pray that things go well.

...to keep this short.

...to avoid above-mentioned brain meltdown.

...for me to love the new colors of my kitchen/dining room and craft room!

...that I also bought paint for the family room today!

...that I've decided there has been enough "neutral" in my life.

...to enjoy COLOR!

...that I still have curtains to make to go with the new colors.

...for me to love the fact that I can actually move around in my craft room!

...to love being organized!

...that I missed my read-a-thon goal by 200 pages.

...that I just got too tired to finish the book last night.

...to be as excited as a 12 yr old about going to my BFF's b-day party!

...to be glad that the rest of the summer we can just chill out and relax

...to want to sleep in every once in a while

...that I don't watch the news

...that I really, really want a new, old-style bicycle

...to be excited about "date night" tomorrow night!

...to be excited that the girls are staying with my parents tomorrow night!

1.  We have a family bbq at our house.  I love getting together and catching up on all the family news.

2.  Either before or after eating, we jump in the pool and goof off.  Adults turn into big kids when it comes to trying to dunk someone under the water!

3.  As it gets dark, out come the sparkler and fireworks.  We all huddle on the porch steps while the men do their manly duty of lighting them and then running for dear life :) !

"What are 3 you would or absolutely would not name a future child?"

Well, if I get pregnant again, it will mean the doctors didn't do what they were supposed to do and it would be a huge shock to which I don't know if I'd recover.  That being said, I love all things names and regularly go to babynames.com and vote on the name of the day.  Some are totally horrendous!

I really don't want to pick any names that I hate because, heaven forbid, you've named your child that and I don't want to offend.  So I'll go with names I would name a future child or maybe grandchild (in about 20 years or so).

Girls:
1.  AUDREY ~ This was my grandmother's name and I really, really miss her.  This name was at the top of my list for our second daughter, but I knew it would be our last chance to use Doug's father's name as a base name and I felt pretty strongly about that.  Hence, La"ken".

2.  LINDSAY ~  This was a list topper for our first daughter.  I just really love the name.


3. KATNISS ~ I know, I know.  This is the girl in Hunger Games.  I really liked the movie but that isn't why I would use this name.  I just think the name is really beautiful.  We would call her "Kat"

Bonus:  I also really like the new Disney Princess from Brave "Merida".  If I had the guts :)

Boys:

1.  KENNETH ~ Doug's dad passed away when Doug was 11.  We really wanted to use this name if we had a boy.  No boy.  Hence, Laken.  See above.


2.  DOUGLAS ~ Even though my husband was adament about not naming a child after him, I think I would do it anyway.  I can just imagine a little Dougie running around.


3.  WILLIAM ~ This was going to be the middle name if we had a boy.  Kenneth William.  William was my grandfather's name.  He passed aways shortly after Doug and I started dating.  I think we would have used "Will" as a nickname.

Bonus:  I always loved the name Ian.

I'm going to go with the best.  Happy thoughts today!

1.  I'm done with childbearing.  I love my girls and I love that I most likely will never have to go through pregnancy again.

2.  I'm more confident.  Or at least, I'm not shy anymore.  I was painfully shy as a child and teenagers.  Now, I'll tell ya what I think!

3. I'm more settled now than I've ever been.  I've been married for 12 years, have two daughters, 2 dogs, 1 bird, 4 rabbits, a house, 2 cars.  I'm a SAHM doing what I love to do.  Yeah, 34 is good :)

That's SO Weird ~ Its OK ~ 5/31/12

"What are 3 foods you eat that others think are weird or strange?"

This was a hard one because I'm a very picky eater and don't really eat "strange" food.  So I had to go mostly with what others may think weird:


1.  Macaroni-n-Cheese with crushed chips.  I love to get a bowl of m-n-ch and crush chips up in it.  If I don't have chips, then snack crackers will do.  I personally don't think this is weird at all.  I see people make baked m-n-ch with crushed chips or crackers on top all the time.

2.  A hoagie (sub, etc. here we say hoagie) with only turkey and cheese.  Remember, I'm picky.  I can't tell you how many times I've been asked "only turkey and cheese?", "are you sure you don't want dressing or mayo on that?", "you don't want any vegetables on that?"  Yes, I am sure.  No, I don't.  Dressing and mayo are disgusting and I'll puke if a vegetable passes by these lips or even under my nose!

3.  Cottage Cheese.  My husband and girls think cottage cheese is gross.  Which means that me liking it is pretty strange considering what it is.   My husband is always amazed that I like it.

...that I don't like coffee.

...to be young and love to crochet.

...to get a mani/pedi at least once a month.

...to say "the heck with cooking" and order a pizza.

...that the grass needs mowed really bad.

...to hope that our daughter's softball team loses so that we don't have to sit through a second day of a scourching hot softball tournament.

...to be stressed about getting everything ready for our vacation next week.

...that I can't wait to hit the road!
