Three Things ~ The Loves of My Life ~ 2/11/2021

The Three Loves of My Life:

~Douglas (aka "the hubby").  Where do I start?  How about almost exactly 21 years ago when he sent me a Valentine's Day ecard (remember those??)?  Now, we've been married 20 years and have 2 beautiful daughters.  He is the most amazing husband and father imaginable!  He knows just what to do to cheer me up when I'm feeling down.  He USUALLY knows just what to say when I'm feeling anxious.  He's not perfect, but neither am I.  We're just right for each other!

~Kaylee (aka "the firstborn daughter").  She's super smart and artistic and a hard worker.  She doesn't have it all figured out yet, but who does at 19 years old?  Above all things she'd like to be an artist but is afraid to take the leap.  Right now she has red, orange and yellow hair but best of all, she has her Daddy's chocolate brown eyes :)

~Laken (aka "the second born daughter").  She's also super smart and artistic and 14 years old.  She'd rather lounge around and watch movies with me than anything else and I wouldn't have it any other way.  She wants to be a scientist and THINKS she has it all figured out!  She also has her Daddy's chocolate brown eyes :)

Three Things ~ I Hate About Winter ~ 2/4/2021

Three Things I Hate About Winter:

~Dangerous Driving Conditions.  I don't mind snow but I hate ice!  Even snow makes me nervous when Kaylee has to drive to work and home again in bad conditions.  I worry about the hubby driving to work also but he's had much more experience driving in nasty weather.  I also worry about the school bus but at least if it is too bad out they are quick to call "virtual" days now.

~Less Daylight.  Even though each day is getting longer bit by bit, I still miss the long days of Summer.  I can't wait until Daylight Savings Time starts on March 14th!

~Soooo Long Until Spring!  Right about now is when Winter seems to be lasting FOREVER!  Each day can feel like an eternity while waiting for Spring to start...  I can't wait to sit out on the deck enjoying the sunshine...

Three Things I Love About Winter:

~ I love the freshly fallen snow.  I especially like when the snow sticks to the trees and it looks like a Winter Wonderland :)

~I love Winter because my youngest daughter, Laken, will be turning 14 years old on February 2nd!  (How did the time fly by so fast?)  She loves everything about winter.  I love the memory of the day I went into labor with her...  There were snowflakes coming down as big as a quarter.  They were just slowly floating down and seeing it calmed my heart.  Laken's birthday is a bright spot in the other-wise dreary Winter.

~Each day that passes means it is one day closer to Spring!  I like to watch the time it gets dark each day.  Just a few weeks ago, 5pm was pitch dark.  Now it is almost 5:30pm before it is dark out.  I love it!  I love the hope it brings.  If I can just make it to Daylight Savings Time!  (BTW, that would be March 14th this year.)

My Inspiration for "Three Things Thursday":

 ~Back in 2016, I participated in a linkup called...."Three Things Thursday" and loved it.  It is no more, so I thought I'd resurrect it here on my blog.  You can see a sample HERE of Three Things I Love About Being a Mom.

~Back in 2012-2013, I participated in a linkup called..."Listicles" and loved IT, too.  Sadly, it also ended.  Listicles was all about making lists.  It was so much fun!  You can see a sample Listicle HERE of 10 Things Summer.

~Back in 2012 (yes, 2012), I participated in a linkup called... "3 on Thursday" and had a blast.  Again, it ended and I couldn't even find blogs for the hosts anymore.  You can see a sample HERE of 3 on Thursday of What I Would Do If I Won the Lottery.

1.  Brushing and braiding hair before bedtime! Such a sweet time together :)

1.  He works so hard for us!  He takes all the overtime he can get so that I can be a stay-at-home-mama :)

2.  He's such a great daddy!  There is no doubt that he loves his girls :)

3.  His chocolate brown eyes!  I love chocolate :)

It is a good thing the Groudhog said that we'll have an early Spring!  I don't think I can wait much longer :)

 

 





Three Things Thursday ~ The Snowstorm ~ 1/28/16

3 Things I Loved About the Snowstorm

  



1.  The snowstorm happened Friday night and all day Saturday.  Therefore, everyone was home and didn't have to go out in the mess.  It was great having us all home and hanging out together.

 

2.  We played games together as a family! 4 games of 500 Rummy and a few games of Operation took place.  (I kept losing and it wasn't pretty!)

 

3.  It was (and is) absolutely beautiful!  That line going across the picture are actually the peaks of our picket fence.  So far hardly any has melted.

Three Things Thursday ~ Committed to in 2016 ~ 1/7/16

 

 

This is  new linkup I found over at Absolute Mommy.  I thought I'd give it a try.

 

 

3 Things I'm Committing to in 2016

 

 



1.  Reading the Bible through in a year.  I'm going to be doing the Read Thru the Word with Wendy Pope.  I ordered a Chronological Bible that still hasn't been delivered.  I ordered it on 12/17/15 so hopefully it will be here soon because I'm falling behind!

 

 

 

2.  Going to the gym at least 3 time a week with the hubby.  We've been very good at sticking to our M-W-F routine.  You can read more about this on my Weigh-in post.

 

 

 

3.  Reading 52 books this year.  I've joined the Goodreads.com Reading Challenge so it will keep track of books read.  So far I have one book finished and my second half-way read.
