My Thoughts:

This is the third book in this series by Liz Isaacson.  I really enjoyed the first book, "Second Chance Ranch."  You can read my review for that book HERE!  And the second book, "Third Time's the Charm".  You can read that review HERE!

I wasn't certain about this book in the beginning as I didn't really like the leading lady, Kate.  She had done a lot of questionable things and was continuing to make mistakes as she went along.

I really liked Brett who was introduced in "Third Time's the Charm" and didn't like that he was being treated so poorly.

After reading the transformation story, I grew to like Kate and was even rooting for her by the end.

I really like books that have emails and letters and it was fun reading the letters from Kate and the emails from Brett.  Especially after they actually started SENDING them!

I'm really looking forward to reading more of this series during the summer :)

My Thoughts:

This is the second book in this series by Liz Isaacson.  I really enjoyed the first book, "Second Chance Ranch."  You can read my review for that book HERE!

When I picked this book up, I knew it would be good.  What I didn't know was that I would read it completely from front to back in one afternoon.  That hasn't happened to me in forever!

I adored the characters, Pete and Chelsea.  I don't want to forget the horses either as they were a big part of the story.  There was Peony, Baywatch and Hank :)

The setting was once again amazing!  I wish Three Rivers Ranch was a real place that I could go visit, especially with Courage Reins.  I'm a little bit afraid of horses so I'd have to overcome that!

I didn't want this story to end!

I'm so glad I get to go back and that this is a long series with 11 books :)

I already have books 3, 4, 5, and 6 waiting for me to read :)

My Thoughts:

This 6 week Bible Study was my daily devotional for a few weeks before "I'll Start Again Monday" took place and then I picked it back up to finish.

It posed a question the very first week:  "Can We Do All Things for God?"  Some of the "All Things" verses were Psalm 119:91, John 1:3, Romans 8:28, Romans 11:33-36.

Throughout the study we learned how we can do "All Things" for God in work, body, relationships, spare moments and leisure.

I learned so much about how I can incorporate God into EVERYTHING that I do.

I enjoyed every topic but I especially learned so much about relationships and how we are to encourage one another and build one another up.  This is an area that I need to work on, especially with those closest to me.  I tend to take out my frustrations on them instead of having an encouraging attitude.  I also am looking at strangers in a whole new light!

This Bible Study was very enlightening, encouraging and informative.  I enjoyed Kim Kirby's writing style.  This was the first study I've done by Kim Kirby but I would definitely look for more :)

The next study I'll be doing is "Fighting Words" by Ellie Holcomb with Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study.  It starts My 31st so there is still time to sign up and get the book!

My Thoughts:

This book was recommended by a member of the Kindred Readers Book Club for our June 2022 selection.  I'm so glad Kelly brought this book to my attention because I probably wouldn't have found it on my own.

The last book I read was "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank and this book was the perfect book to read next!  It was absolutely stunning!

From beginning to end I didn't know who could be trusted or what was going to happen next.  There were twists and turns, love and betrayal.  There was such a dangerous atmosphere that the book made me feel...I don't know...it just made me FEEL.  All the emotions.

I love when a book is a great read AND I learn about something I didn't know about before.  I think that is why I adore historical novels so much.

It might take me a day or two to process this book before I can start reading another!

My Thoughts:

I originally read a version of this book in 7th Grade Reading Class with Mrs. Laird.  That would have been around 1989 so I'm not even sure if this version was in print at that time.  What I do know is that I learned so much more this time around!

At times, I forgot that a 14 year old girl was writing this book.  At other times, her immaturity shone through quite clearly.  I especially thought she was a bit harsh about her mother but that might be because I now have a 15 year old daughter and am the mother myself.

The closer I got to finishing the book, the more I was dreading the end because I knew what that meant for Anne and the rest of the Annex Eight.

I was glad that this edition had information at the end about what happened to those hiding and also the helpers who hid them.  It was very interesting to read.

I read this book as part of a month-long study with Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies.  I really enjoyed the daily encouragement I received as part of the OBS (Online Bible Study) and have already signed up for the next one!

I was a little bit sad to actually finish this book.  I wish that it was a 365 Day Study instead of a 30 Day Study.  I definitely learned a lot about myself while taking the time to absorb each and every chapter, a little bit at a time.

I want to leave this study by remembering the following from Chapter 16 of the book:

1.  God created us and told us to be faithful with the bodies we've been given.

2.  The Holy Spirit empowers us to make lasting change.

3.  Jesus lovingly guides and guards us as we walk with Him, moment by moment, choice by choice, day by day.

There was so much in this short book that I could quote and recommend.  So many "nuggets" of wisdom and encouragement are contained within its covers.  Here are two of my favorites from Chapter 18:

"Jesus girls aren't made to get stuck in a state of defeat."

"We were made to walk on paths headed toward victory."

Yes.  We are!  Victory, here we come!

I bought this book to read with the OBS and am so glad I did :)

My Thoughts:

I've been reading this book as part of a month-long study with Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies.

We're a little over halfway through, so I thought I would break my review down into two parts as there is so much good stuff within the covers of this book!

One of the very first lessons we learned in this book is that "Everything is permissible--but not everything is beneficial" 1 Corinthians 10:23.  As someone who has struggled with "dieting" my whole life, this concept is life-changing.  So many times I've thought to myself "I'm not allowed to have sweets on this diet" and then felt deprived.  Changing my thought pattern to "yes, I could have that sweet but it wouldn't be beneficial to my end goals" is an amazing concept!

Another phrase the study leaders had us write on the inside cover of our books was "I AM MADE FOR MORE!"  I am made for more than thinking less of myself because of the way I look in the mirror or the number on the scale.  I am made for more than excuses and vicious cycles.

The last lesson I'll talk about here in Part 1 of this book review is that "Halfhearted efforts produce mediocre results."  I can't tell you the number of times I've 'started again Monday' only to make halfhearted efforts.  Everyday needs to be welcomed with an undivided heart.  

I'm loving this little book and this study!  I'm praying that this time will be different as I 'depend less on my own strength and more on God's power.'

I was in a mini-reading slump the past 2 weeks.  I thought to myself "What genre haven't I read in a while?"  The answer was easy:  a good, cowboy romance!

I was so excited to find this series, "Three Rivers Ranch Romance", on Kindle Unlimited.  And even more excited that there looks to be quite a few  books in this series. :)

It was a fun back-story full of growing up together, prom dates or non-dates, best-friends brother and much more.

Squire was a great hero even though a bit misguided at times.  Kelly's character was relatable and little Finn was adorable.  I don't want to forget the character of Benson!  I can't turn down a story with a dog in it :)

I really enjoyed the spirituality of the story.  I especially liked the "Can I sit with you at Church" scene, because 22 years ago, the hubby asked me the same thing!

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit Three Rivers Ranch and can't wait to go back!

My Thoughts:

My thoughts on this book are very ho-hum!

In fact I quit reading with 50 pages left to go!  I know I should have just finished it but I found myself putting off reading and that just is not a good sign.  That is the sign of a reading slump and I don't want that when I'm doing so well with my 1 book per week goal for 2022.

I'm going to count it a finish even though "technically" it was a DNF.  But I was so close!!!!

You may be asking why it was just a ho-hum book for me.

Well, the characters were just not very likable!  I thought the leading lady was just plain mean at times and the hero was a bit insipid.  There just wasn't much depth to either character.  At least that is how I felt.

I feel terrible when I have to write a not-so-favorable review.  Maybe it was just my mood as I'm a mood reader at heart.

My Thoughts:

Wow!

All I can think is "Wow!" yet that somehow isn't enough.

"What the Wind Knows" and the author Amy Harmon captured me fully from the prologue to the very last page.

I found myself pacing my reading because I didn't want it to end before it had to.  I made sure that when I sat down to read, I would be able to fully engulf myself in the story with no distractions.

I loved this book and am sad to see it come to an end :(

If I were a "star-giver" it would be 5 stars, all the way!

My Thoughts:

This was my second book in a row about military men with PTSD.  The first was a Clean Regency Romance and this was an Inspirational Contemporary Romantic Suspense.  So very different but with underlying common themes.

I really liked the characters of Jason and Addison and especially Connor.  I liked that they were acquainted an even friendly neighbors before the story started.  They already knew each other and had a neighborly relationship that flowed so well into the storyline.

I have to say that I had vibes about who the "suspect" was but didn't truly have it figured out until the end when all was revealed.

I enjoyed getting to know Nate and Kyle also and hope to read more about them soon.

This is my first book written by Lynn Shannon but I already have book 2 of the Triumph Over Tragedy series downloaded on my Kindle.

My Thoughts:

I really liked this book, my first written by the author Sally Britton.

I love when the hero has scars (literal and figurative) and the heroine falls in love anyway.  It is such an endearing theme.

I loved the storyline of the family trying to get what I would call a Veteran's Hospital started.  My dad is a veteran and does all his doctoring at our local VA Hospital.  They are marvelous!

I didn't know this book could be read as a sequel to His Unexpected Heiress.  I felt a little out of the loop, but the author did a great job of making this a stand-alone book as well.

Her Unsuitable Match is also a part of a series called Supposed Scandal.  And who doesn't love a good scandal ?  :)

I downloaded this book from Kindle Unlimited.
