Happy Homemaker Monday ~ 2/17/20

Come join Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The weather outside is::::
Spring-like!
Friday was very cold and wintry at 12F but by Sunday (yesterday) it was 52F!
We even saw our first robin of the year :)
On my breakfast plate:
Special K Cinnamon Pecan Cereal
As I look around the house::::
I got pretty much all the housework and laundry finished over the weekend.  I'm feeling pretty good about it.
On today's to do list::::
I'm supposed to have a dr's appt (regular check-up) this afternoon but I think I'm going to reschedule.  There's no school today for the girls and I just don't feel like going to my appt.  I mean, I'd have to shave my legs and everything!
Happening this week::::
Devotions:  Our Really Bad Girl of the Bible this week is the "Woman caught committing adultery".  We went over the first half of the lesson as time allowed.  Did you ever wonder what Jesus was writing in the sand that made the Pharisees think about their own sins and leave without stoning the woman?  We had a great time of discussion.
Diet:  I bit the bullet and cancelled my WW subscription.  I'm thinking of just using www.sparkpeople.com to keep track of my eating.  Sparkpeople counts calories.  I also got a new scale so that I can weigh myself.  That is the plan for now.
Exercise:  We only made it to the gym twice this week.  I'm hoping to go this week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and get back to our normal schedule.
Housework:  Saturday was a nice afternoon for housework.  I got the laundry finished, the floors swept, the bedding washed and the beds remade and the Family Room picked up all in good time.
Doug:  The hubby is working third shift again this week.  Not much new going on with him.  We did go out for Valentine's Day to Cracker Barrel.  He even bought me some Hershey's milk chocolate :)
Kaylee:  Kaylee is looking for her first car and with that will come her first job.  We worked on applications for part-time jobs on Sunday afternoon after Church.  She applied to the normal places including Chick-Fil-A.  I'd like her to get a job there as they aren't open on Sundays which would be wonderful.
Laken: Laken had a Track & Field meeting on Tuesday before school let out.  She had to fill out a form saying which events she is interested in.  She picked long jump, triple jump, pole vault and javelin.  This is a first for her so I hope she likes T&F.  Practices start on March 2nd and if she signs up, we insist that she sticks with it.
Currently reading::::
Still no reading this week but I did get a few books at Ollie's as a Valentine gift.  Which should I read first?  They are both on my list of favorite authors.
 On the TV::::
BIGGEST LOSER!!!!
FBI
FBI Most Wanted
Prodigal Son
Deputy
Lincoln Rhyme
Listening to:
The Message
The Highway
Klove
On the menu week::::
Monday -  Steak, Fried Potatoes
Tuesday -  Sausage Gravy and Biscuits
Wednesday -  Chicken and Stuffing
Thursday  - Fish, mac-n-cheese
Friday -  Beef Stew
Saturday -  Grilled Cheese, Soup
Sunday - Potluck at Church
What I am creating at the moment::::
I'm still working on a prayer shawl for my "Angel" at Church.  I'll post a picture when I'm finished :)
Bible Verse
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and p ray to your Father, who is unseen.  Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
  1. You and I would make good TV companions. I have those same shows on my DVR to be caught up on. I'm laughing (with you) at rescheduling your appointment for today because you'd have to shave your legs - sounds like my kind of reasoning! Have a GREAT week and enjoy staying home with the girls.
  3. When I'm motivated, I like to use My Fitness Pal but I can't remember if it counts calories. Just that I found it a bit more user friendly than Spark people. I'm working my way through some of those same shows (slowly). Good luck to your daughters all their exciting new adventures! Hope you have a wonderful week.
  4. When our children start driving and having their own cars, we enter a whole new chapter of our lives. Haha good one about having to reschedule because of leg shaving.
  5. I haven't been at all good about exercising and it is showing on the scale since I've been the same weight for three weeks. I'd like to lose another ten pounds so I need to exercise again. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
