Journal Entry ~ 4/9/20

A few sentences about each day...

April 1, 2020 - April 7, 2020

Wed/1 ~ This day was totally stinky.  Pennsylvania's governor made all counties "stay at home" today.  While I understand (and really don't need to go anywhere), I really am finding out how much I enjoy the freedom to just get up and go wherever I want!  Bah Humbug!

Thurs/2 ~ I was feeling very gloomy today.  Actually, the past few days.  This evening we went for a long walk as a family and I felt much better afterwards.  The sun was shining even though it was still chilly.  The four of us walked and talked.  We need to do this on a regular basis.

Fri/3 ~  I went on two walks today.  One was first thing this morning and another this evening.  I feels good to have gotten so many steps in and to get outside.  My plantar fasciitis is bothering me a bit from walking so much on it today.  Hopefully it feels better by morning.

Sat/4 ~ I cleaned my patio table so that I could sit on the deck and crochet.  Getting outside on the nice days is imperative to my mental health!

Sun/5 ~ This was our second Church "At Home" Sunday.  I'm starting to realize how much I take "normal" Church for granted.  It was a beautiful day so after lunch Doug and I went for a walk.

Mon/6 ~ It was gorgeous outside today.  It was sunny and 70F on the deck.  I spent most of the afternoon and evening at the patio table working on my current project.  In the morning, Doug and I went out for supplies and groceries it is so weird seeing people wear masks to protect themselves from getting the virus...

Tues/7 ~ Since Doug is off this week, we took the opportunity to clean out the Subaru and the Nitro.  We are horrible about keeping out cars cleaned out.  We also cleaned the trunks out.  It was way past due!

Until next week,

Colletta

Tea Time ~ Book Fairs and Tea Cups ~ 11/28/16

Grab a cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate or your favorite drink
while I share a few things that made me smile this week :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~I "needed" to go to Hobby Lobby this weekend, so the whole family made the 1 hour trip including my cousin's little boy, Dex!  It made me smile to see them all peaceful and sleeping :)
~My walking route with the mountains that cradle our little valley town!  Isn't God's handiwork beautiful ? :)
~Laken carved her pumpkin Tuesday evening!  She's such a ham :)
~I got a new tea cup!  It is Pioneer Woman :)
~The school book fair was this week with family evening on Tuesday!  The top books are Laken's and the bottom are Kaylee's.  You can definitely tell they have different interests :)
Weigh-In Wednesday ~ 5/6/15
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Whatever you do, work at it wholeheartedly as though you were doing it for the Lord and not merely for people.

Colossians 3:23

I got the "All Clear" from my surgeon and went back to work on Monday.  That meant I also got back to walking.

I started out by just walking around our block a few times a day.  The weather has been cooperating.  We had some rain on Thursday and Friday but it was sporadic and left plenty of time to get out and get my walk in.

Here are a few Springy pictures I took while walking in my neighborhood:

Lilacs, my favorite.

Flowering Quince

Tulips

As for my weigh-in....I knew losing 7 pounds in one week (last week's weigh-in) was too good to be true.  I got on the scale and was actually afraid that it would be a lot worse than the 2 pound gain that I had.  That still is a loss of 5 pounds in 2 weeks, so I'm not overly bummed.

I plan to get a lot more walking in this week and also start working on my food intake.  Less junk, more healthy.

This week's stats:

Miles:  3
Total Miles:  6

lbs lost: +2
Total lost:  22

Family Time ~ Riding Bikes ~ 5/27/14

In an attempt to spend more time together as a family and get the girls out of their bedrooms, we've been taking evening walks/bike rides around the neighborhood.

Our youngest is 7 years old, and think that we should take her training wheels off and just let her go.  I don't think she realizes that she has to learn to balance before that can happen.

Here's a family shot with a silly face thrown in :)

Daddy staying close to the little one because she has a tendency to just tip over randomly!

Our oldest is almost 13 and likes to ride ahead of the rest of the family.  She always stops at the corners and waits for us to catch up though :)

I love this picture of Laken from behind.  Just look at those adorable pigtails!

Getting a smile from Kaylee is almost impossible.  So glad I caught this one!

Laken, on the other hand, loves to pose :)

We went full circle and once again made it back to Home Sweet Home!

Weigh-In Wednesday ~ 5/21/14 ~ Week 6

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whatever you do, work at it wholeheartedly as though you were
 doing it for the Lord and not merely for people.
Colossians 3:23
I walked 19 miles this!  19 miles is a new record for me.
It all started with a missed day of walking.  Last Thursday, it stormed so I didn't go out for my walk.  I decided I would add a mile to two days to make up for it.
Friday, I walked 3 miles and felt great!  Saturday, I walked 3 miles again and felt great!  So, I've been walking 3 miles ever since.
A few days I've even walked and extra mile in the evening with the family for a few 4 mile days.
I guess you could say that I accidentally upped my walking routine to 3 miles a day :)
Week 6 check-in:
Miles:  19
Total Miles: 74.5
lbs lost:  1.0
Total lost:  11.0
Food Plan:  I worked really hard at watching my food intake this week and sticking to the plan.  Except for last night!  I really blew it last night :(
Weigh-In Wednesday ~ 5/7/14 ~ Week 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Whatever you do, work at it wholeheartedly as though you were

 doing it for the Lord and not merely for people.

Colossians 3:23

I did it!  I walked 2 miles everyday this past week!  I walked in the rain.  I walked in the sun.  I walked in the wind.  I walked with muscle cramps.  I walked and walked and walked.

I think 14 miles in one week might be a new record for me.  Should I go for 15 next week?

Week 4 check-in:

Miles:  14
Total Miles: 42.5

lbs lost:  1.6
Total lost:  8.4

Food Plan:  I was fairly strict this week.

Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
