ReplyDeleteMy taste in books has stayed fairly consistent. I know the genres I don't enjoy and that hasn't changed at all. I find that sometimes the increase in popularity of one of my favourite genre can turn me off. With that said, I always seem to go back to it after the wave has passed.

ReplyDeleteI've been a Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys buff when I was young but required reading in school sort of buzzed the reader in me. But now, I mostly read YA, scifi, paranormal and actually, every fiction book I can get my hands off. So I guess it sorta changed but I still love some Nancy Drew and Babysitter's Club. First love never dies, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteMy reading tastes have never changed. I love ya and horror books.
ReplyDeleteerma2167@sbcglobal.net
Not so much changed, than refined. I used to read a lot of various genres, but mostly fairy tales, adventure and detective stories. Now I'm mostly into paranormal, sci-fi and fantasy, both adult and YA.

When I was a kid I read all fairy tales and was enthralled. In high school, and through my twenties, I read highbrow works and classics, lol, I guess I was trying to impress myself :) Ha ha. I don't know why, but after that, I got sucked into YA and never stopped!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the question and giveaway. I hope I win! :)

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! My reading tastes just like my other tastes have changed over time. I continue to read great literary fiction, poetry, and short stories, but I've expanded my reading to memoirs, historical fiction, non-fiction, and YA! Books are wonderful that way.

I started out with basic chick lit (Jane Green, Emily Giffin) then discovered I liked YA (Stephanie Meyer, Suzanne Collins) and I've recently started enjoying adult romance stuff (Sylvia Day, EL James). Now I read pretty much anything and everything!

I've explored many different genres as a teen, but now that I'm in college, I've returned to children's literature. It is simple, sweet, and (if done well) imaginative. YA and children's fiction/fantasty are by far my favorites.

My tastes have definitely changed over time. At first I was a HUGE fan of all things supernatural, then I changed to realistic fiction, then to dystopian and now I'm at paranormal. Although it keeps changing, I do go back and read books I seem to have missed along the way =]

My reading tastes have changed over the years... as a young teen, I much preferred to read chick lit, you know Jackie Collins, Jilly Cooper Shirley Conrad. I learned a LOT from those ladies, if you know what I mean ;)
ReplyDeleteBut then, in my mid to late twenties, I was introduced to the YA genre....yes, it was Harry Potter that did it! And now I am totally HOOKED on YA... I guess it's another reason why I became a YA author myself! lol

My reading tastes are constantly changing. I used to read a lot of mysteries and thrillers (such as James Patterson) but now I rarely pick up one of those books. Whereas now I read a lot of YA. I think the only thing that has remained constant is that I have always been a scifi/fantasy reader.

I read just about anything, although I do "binge" on certain genres from time to time. The quality of the writing is more important to me than the genre. If the story's flat or the editing non-existent, the book goes straight to the DNF pile!
