ABBY AND CONOR EACH THOUGHT LOVE WOULD NEVER AGAIN STIR THEIR HEARTS. BUT THE ONE WHO KNOWS THEM BEST MAY HAVE OTHER PLANS ...

Abigail Stanton's whole life was rooted in her faith, a faith she now clings to solely to survive. In the wake of losing her husband and young son, Abby sets out alone, bereft and heartsick, to discover what God wants her to do. When he leads her to Conor MacKay's doorstep, though, the very foundation of her beliefs starts to shift.

As the volatile rancher's new housekeeper, Abby is supposed to keep his affairs --- and his equally capricious little girl --- in order. Why, then, does she feel confusion, passion, desire, and anything but order every time they are together? Conor tries to hide his own seething emotions beneath a cold facade, but there is something about his prim new housekeeper that sets him on edge. And the more ruthlessly he attacks Abby's faith, the more his defenses crack.

As Abby and Conor draw closer to the flame of their attraction, they must grapple with their deepest beliefs and fears. In opening their hearts again, both risk even greater loss for a chance at the greatest love of all.

Book Review ~ Hidden in the Stars by Robin Caroll ~ 3/9/17

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 21875729
Blurb:
 Following an attack that killed her mother and stole her ability to speak, 21-year-old Sophia Montgomery has no choice but to accept her estranged grandmother’s offer to return to their family home. Although detective Julian Frazier is working hard on the case, Sophia unknowingly frustrates him because her inability to speak thwarts her eyewitness evidence. The fact that Julian is undeniably attracted to Sophia doesn’t help either, so Julian hides his feelings as concern for a trauma victim and focuses instead on finding the killer.
Little do they know, the clues to solving the case may be right in front of them, displayed in Sophia’s mother’s “special” quilt design. Who will realize the secret Sophia’s unwittingly been hiding in plain sight? When the truth comes to light, will Sophia find her voice again? Or will the murderer—still at large—silence her forever?
My Thoughts:
The description of this book intrigued me.
I wondered how the author would bring all the aspects of not being able to speak into the story.
Those questions were answered soon enough but another question came to my mind.  Why did the cover have a ballerina on it when the leading lady was a gymnast?  I hate when covers don't follow the storyline.
However, I soon learned that the ballerina aspect played a very huge part in the story.
Robin Caroll is one of my favorite mystery/suspense writers, so I knew this would be a good read.  The main plot is the mystery and the "romance" was secondary.
I liked how the author ended the book with a hint of what was to come between the main characters, rather than a full blown "I'm in love!" ending.
Another great "Quilts of Love" book!
She’s all about going green. Could he be her white knight—or will he make her see red?
Tree-huggin’, animal-lovin’ Bridget Pickwick-Buchanan is on a mission. Well, two. First she has to come to terms with being a widow at thirty-three. After all, it’s been four years and even her five-year-old niece and nephew think it’s time she shed her widow’s weeds. Second, she needs to find a buyer for her family’s estate—a Biltmore-inspired mansion surrounded by hundreds of acres of unspoiled forestland. With family obligations forcing the sale, Bridget is determined to find an eco-friendly developer to buy the land, someone who won’t turn it into single-family homes or a cheesy theme park.
Enter J. C. Dirk, a high-energy developer from Atlanta whose green property developments have earned him national acclaim. When he doesn’t return her calls, Bridget decides a personal visit is in order. Unfortunately, J. C. Dirk is neither amused nor interested when she interrupts his meeting—until she mentions her family name. In short order, he finds himself in North Carolina, and Bridget has her white knight—in more ways than one. But there are things Bridget doesn’t know about J. C., and it could mean the end of everything she’s worked for…and break her heart.
Book Review ~ LFYI Sunflower Kansas by Pamela Tracy ~ 3/2/17
Blurb:
 Will Annie find treasure in her field of sunflowers?
Annie Jamison is the sister who keeps the peace. So when her mother goes missing, Annie's the one sent to retrieve her. There's one problem. It seems the town Willa Jamison (willingly) ran off to--Sunflower, Kansas-- doesn't exist. Sure, it's on the map, but when Annie drives there, she finds herself in the middle of a field. Of sunflowers.
In nearby Bonner Springs, Kansas, Annie finds her errant mother...and Joe Kelly, a handsome veterinarian who thinks Annie is part of a team of con artists out to swindle his father. It takes some time, but eventually, Joe's working with Annie instead of against her to bring their wacky parents to their senses.
When this unlikely team turns into an unlikely couple, Annie no longer wants to leave her field of sunflowers. She wants happily-ever-after with Joe Kelly. But when evidence of the con resurfaces, will Joe have enough faith in Annie to recognize the truth?
My Thoughts:
This is the first book I've read by Pamela Tracy but I knew that it would be a good one due to the book being part of the "Love Finds You In" series.
I really enjoyed the concept of the daughter trying to track down her mother and get her out of "trouble", real or perceived.  Even though I don't have any sisters of my own, I have lots of aunts and cousins, so I know what family drama can be like!
I was really intrigued by the setting in the book, especially the old farm in Sunflower.
As for the love story (and there had to be one in this series!), I loved it!
Talk about a chance meeting between two complete strangers from different parts of the country.  All brought together by an oddly placed add for an armchair detective!
There were some seriously laughable moments in this book, as well as the mystery of finding the lost coins.
The author winds the story up nice and neat.  Just the way I like them :)
