Book Review: "Thicker Than Blood" by CJ Darlington
Book Description:
Christy Williams finally has her life on track. She’s putting her past behind her and working hard to build a career as an antiquarian book buyer. But things begin to unravel when a stolen Hemingway first edition is found in her possession, framing her for a crime she didn’t commit. With no one to turn to, she yearns for her estranged younger sister, May, whom she abandoned after their parents’ untimely deaths.
Soon, Christy’s fleeing from her shattered dreams, her ex-boyfriend, and God. Could May’s Triple Cross Ranch be the safe haven she’s searching for? Will the sisters realize that each possesses what the other desperately needs before it’s too late?
My Thoughts:
This book is the author's debut novel. I've had it on my TBR pile for a while now and finally picked it up to read not sure what to expect.
This book is excellent! Seriously. And the book IS very serious at points.
This isn't a romance novel but it is a novel about love. It is about accepting the love of family and the love freely given by God.
This book really touched me and I longed for Christy to find the peace that she was searching for. The peace that she could find through love if only she would let her heart open to it.
I don't know if the author is going to be writing any more books about May and Christy but I would love to read more about them and their journeys.
Definitely worth reading!

Thanks so much for posting a review of my novel Thicker than Blood. I'm glad you enjoyed it. My second novel, Bound by Guilt, is coming out in Feb/March from Tyndale House, and Christy is a supporting character. The Book Barn also plays an important role. :)
