RAK's are one of my favorite things. I love to see the excitement on someone's face at an unexpected gift or gesture. I am always blown away when I am on the receiving end of a RAK.
For this giveaway, I will be offering the following book:
"Home is Where the Bark Is"
by Kandy Shepherd
*Mandatory- Leave a comment telling me if you've ever done a RAK or if you've ever been on the receiving end of a RAK.
*Extra- Follow my blog and leave a second comment telling me that you do :)
Yes actually I have. I did a RAK today and I'm going to do another one. It makes me feel good to give back to you bloggers that work so hard on your blogs to give us your amazing reviews and up to date news on new books that are coming out. I actually enjoyed doing this and I think I will try my hardest to do this every month. Thank you for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

We have recently given money without the person knowing. We try to do RAK as often as possible. Just seems like the right thing to do

I've been on both the receiving and giving side of an RAK. The most recent random act of kindness i've experienced was about a month ago. I was in a Chick-Fil-A drive thru and the car in front of me bought my meal. I was so happy to find that there are still selfless people in the world! Since my meal was paid for, I paid it forward and bought the meal of the car behind mine, even though it was $10 more than mine! I still felt really good doing it! And I do many RAKs during Christmas time!

Thanks for the giveaway!! Random acts of kindness happen all the time. Sometimes we don't even notice when they occur. Living on a christian college campus, I'm constantly thanking people for opening doors to the point of ridiculousness. In fact, the other day while I was working at the campus store, a young boy, probably the age of 16, found $17 on the floor and turned it in claiming that someone had dropped it. How honest and sweet is that!?
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day and I hope your day is filled with random acts of kindness!

Yes, one time we were in line at Walmart and someone in front of us didn't have enough money, so we paid the difference. It was actually only a few dollars, but it felt good to be able to help out.

ReplyDeleteMy friend posted on fb that the first four responders would receive a small token of appreciation some time in the next year. I responded and also posted on my fb as well. I'm looking forward to sending out some small gifts. Cute idea!!

I'm not often on the receiving end of RAK, but the other day at the grocery store I was in line at customer service to pay the cutoff notice amount for our gas bill and my 4 year old daughter was whining for about 20 minutes straight (the line takes forever) about how she wanted an umbrella and I was trying to tell her as quietly as possible to calm down and that I couldn't afford it. I felt so bad. Her cousin has 4 umbrellas at her house and I couldn't afford one. Then an older gentleman walked up to us, handed me a $20, insisted that I buy her an umbrella and that I keep the change. I didn't know what to say. I was speechless at first, and then I got all teary and couldn't stop saying thank you. To someone else $20 may not be a big deal, but to me, it was so much more than even the money. Most of the people in the line were irritated with my daughter's whining, but this kind man saw past that and gave his own money to a stranger just to brighten my daughter's day. I'll never forget that.

I've both given and received RAKs. The most memorable was being in the Tim Horton's drive through and being told that my order had been paid for by the car in front of me! I passed along the kindness by paying by the car behind me. I hope it kept going on and on!

I try and help people out as much as I can whenever I can :) and I love the little RAK's like when people hold the door open for me, or if I have just a couple things in line at the grocery store a few times people have let me sneak in ahead of them :)

Recently I was at the receiving end of a RAK. I was at Sam's Club and was having trouble getting a 4-pack of 2-liter bottles of soda down. A man helped me get them and put them in my cart.
ReplyDeleteIn the past, I've :
. helped a woman load her groceries into her trunk
. helped a woman pay for gas
. helped a woman get a letter unstuck from a mail receptacle
I feel grateful being on the receiving end and try to pay it forward.
Thanks :)
