Book Beginnings and 56 ~ Submerged ~ 2/1/13

Please join Rose City Reader and me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.

My Current Read:

Submerged
Submerged by Dani Pettrey

The Book Beginning:

"Never wager unless you control the stakes.

And she'd thought she held such a strong hand."

My Thoughts:

I'm literally just starting this book and this was the first I read the sentence.  My first impression is that things are not going "her" way.  She had taken a risk and things weren't going very well.

I look forward to reading more!

The 56th Page:

"Cole chuckled, "You've been reading too
many Patterson novels."

My Thoughts:

I love when books reference books!  Can't wait to get there and see what it is about!

Happy Friday!

    1. I'll be reading "Shattered" right after Submerged as part of a book tour. I wanted to read the first book in the series so I could get a better understanding of the second :)
