Colletta Is Losing It! ~ Weekly Weigh In #1 ~ 3/4/2025

If you've not read my "Colletta Is Losing It! ~ A Fresh Start" post, please go HERE to check it out.  It is a post where I explain what is going on with my health/wellness journey as well as my plan of action.

~~~~~
So far I haven't been able to get the Zepbound to help with weight loss.  Even though my insurance approved it, my charge was still going to be over $1000/month.  I just can't afford that.  I'm going to call my PCP when I'm off work on Thursday to see what can be done next.
For now, I'll be going the diet/exercise route only.
I'm fairly pleased with my results so far.
My tracking week will be Monday through Sunday.  Here are some stats:
Weigh in #1:  Goal -1lb/week
Highest Weight ~ 301.6 lbs
Last Week's Weight ~ 301.6
This Week's Weight ~ 293.2
This Week's Total:  -8.4 lbs
*Grand Total: -8.4 lbs
Exercise Week #1 : Goal 3 X 30min/week
Monday ~ 30 minutes ~ Treadmill
Tuesday ~ 45 minutes ~ Walking Outside
Wednesday ~ N/A
Thursday ~ 45 minutes ~ Walking Outside
Friday ~ N/A
Saturday ~ N/A
Sunday ~ N/A
This Week's Total:  120 minutes
*Grand Total: 120 minutes
If anyone would like to join along, please do so!  I need all the encouragement I can get!
Colletta Is Losing It! ~ Weekly Weigh In ~ #0 ~ 2/24/2025
If you've not read my "Colletta Is Losing It! ~ A Fresh Start" post, please go HERE to check it out.  It is a post where I explain what is going on with my health/wellness journey as well as my plan of action.
One of those actions mentioned is a weekly weigh in post.  I debated using a separate blog for my journey but decided against it.  I've been blogging here on Colletta's Kitchen Sink for 16 years and it has always been "a little bit of everything" about my life, so why change that now.
I'd like to be transparent and honest about my journey and this is the starting point:  Week #0 .  My initial weigh in and measurements.
I went to my PCP on 2/19/25 for an ear infection and you know that pesky business of weighing a person every visit...I tipped the scale at 301.6 lbs.  So that is where I'm starting.  And hopefully ending this escalation of weight gain.
I've not yet heard whether or not our health insurance company is going to authorize my prescription for Zepbound but I decided not to wait for that and to get started right away.
My plan for weigh in posts is to weigh in on Monday mornings and post my results either Monday evening or Tuesday.  I work on Monday so that will give me some time to compose my Weekly Weigh In post.  I'll probably also include some measurements and exercise stats along the way with any other information I deem pertinent.
~~~~~

My tracking week will be Monday through Sunday.  Here are some stats:

Weekly Weigh-In ~ #1 ~ 1/4/2023

As I mentioned last Wednesday, I decided to restart my "journey" the day after Christmas.

What I really wanted to accomplish during the "between week" was get back into a routine of exercising.  I think I did pretty well having exercised 5/7 days for 30 minutes each day.  Most days I walked on the treadmill.  However, Sunday was so gorgeous that I walked outside and enjoyed it immensely.

We still had some peanut butter fudge (my weakness) in the house and I couldn't let it go to waste.  I allowed myself to have 1 piece a day for a little sweet.

As always, my tracking week is Monday through Sunday.  Here are some stats:

Exercise Week #1:

12/26/22 - Monday - 30 minutes treadmill

12/27/22 - Tuesday -30 minutes treadmill

12/28/22 - Wednesday - 30 minutes treadmill

12/29/22 - Thursday - 30 minutes treadmill

1/1/23 - Sunday - 30 minutes outside

This Week's Total:  150 minutes

Grand Total:  150 minutes

Weigh in #1:

Highest Weight ~ 300.6 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 12/26/2022 ~ 287.8 lbs.

This Week's Weight ~ 1/2/2023 ~ 286.2 lbs.

This Week's Total:  -1.6 lbs

Grand Total: -14.4 lbs

Now that the goodies are out of the house, I want to start concentrating on my food intake.  I'll try to have some stats on food next week.

Please let me know in the comments if you are on your own weight loss journey!  I'd love to follow along :)

Here I go again!  I'm back with health, fitness and weight goals!

If you've followed my blog for long, you've heard it all before so I won't bore you.  At least not today :)

Needless to say, I'm "starting" once again.  I decided to do a baseline weigh-in on Monday.  Yes, the day after Christmas is when I decided it would be a good time to kick start my "Journey".

My plan is to do my actual weigh-in on Monday mornings and then post my results each Wednesday.

With no further a-do, here's my baseline:

Weigh in #0:

Highest Weight ~ 300.0 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 12/26/2022 ~ 287.8 lbs.

This Week's Total:   -----

#2023 Planning Party ~ 2023 Goals and Dreams

I love planning, parties and a new year, so when I saw Yvonne @ Quilting Jetgirl was hosting a #2023 Planning Party I couldn't resist joining in!

I started working outside the home in August and feel like my life has been a blur since.  Now that I'm getting settled in my new job, I feel like I can set some goals for 2023.  In no particular order, here they are:

1.  Daily Devotional Time ~ This year I'm going to be reading a devotional along with my Mom and my Aunt Donna.  One evening each week, we get together to discuss what we've read and go over any notes we may have taken. We're going to be using "A Little God Time for Women" as a guide for 2023.  My plan is to stay current and up-to-date to the very best of my ability!  I already have a notebook picked out for my notes and am excited to get started on January 1st!

2.  Every year I make plans to  exercise and lose weight.  In 2023, I'd really like to be intentional about making this plan a reality.  I'm going to try to post my weekly results and stats here on Colletta's Kitchen Sink.  If anyone would like to join along, I'd love some accountability partner(s)!

3.  Speaking of blog posts, my next plan is to get back on a blogging schedule.  The second half of 2022 has been really HIT and MISS with my blog.  I'm currently working on a schedule so if there's anything you'd like to see, let me know!

4.  Kate's 15 minutes to Stitch 2023 is the PERFECT inspiration to get back into creating! I enjoy crocheting, sewing, quilting (especially hand-quilting) and have so many projects started.  I'm not going to list them here but I'd like to get the majority of my WIPS finished in 2023.  (I really have no idea how many there are so maybe I should set a goal to organize my projects!)

5.  I only read 16 books in 2022.  To some that might seem like a lot but there were years long ago when I would read at least 3 books per week and wanted to devour even more!  As my spare time has dwindled, I've gotten more selective in my reading.  Maybe I need to branch out.  I don't know what I'll be reading but my plan is to read at least 12 books in 2023.  I'll start with a low number and up it if and when I would read more than that.  I think I'll borrow the 15 minute habit and try to read at least 15 minutes a day.

6.  We've got some milestone birthdays coming up in 2023!  Laken will be turning 16 on 2/2; I'll be turning 45 (yikes) on 3/24 and the Hubby will be turning 55!!!!! on 6/9.  I'm not sure of exact plans (better get a move on Laken's bday plans) but we're going to CELEBRATE!

I think that is it for now!  Those are the main plans, anyway.  I look forward to reading some of the other party participants' plans and maybe adding a few more to my list as I get motivated :)

Thanks for hosting, Yvonne!

Once again (for the bazillionth time), I'm starting on a weight loss journey.

My first mini-goal is to get below 280 lbs.  I'm giving myself a deadline of June 3, 2022 as that is my next doctor's appointment.  Yikes!  No pressure!

I'll be weighing in on Mondays and posting my results on Wednesday.  If you'd like to join in on the journey, I'd love to have some weight loss friends and support!

Feel free to use the "Weekly Weigh In" graphic and create your own post with as much (or as little) info as you are comfortable sharing and leave a link in the comments.  Or you can just report your results in the comments.

I've borrowed my daughter's Chromebook to write this post.  I look forward to getting back to blogging soon!

Weekly Weigh In ~ 5/6/20

I did way too much snacking this week and didn't do a very good job of tracking everything.  I really need to work on not snacking this week.  I think I write that every week, but it is a real problem for me!

I managed to get in 31 Fit Points which is 6 Points over my goal of 25 Fit Points.  Thank you, treadmill!  I'm loving being able to hop on the treadmill and exercise any time I get the chance no matter the weather.  I'm trying to get into a rhythm of getting up in the morning, eating breakfast, and then getting on the treadmill.  I feel so much better knowing I have my exercise in for the day.

I've decided to change my actual weigh in day to Monday.  I'm hoping that this will help with controlling my eating over the weekend.  When I weigh in on Friday, for some reason I think that it is OK to be off-plan until Monday.  This is NOT working.

Hence, the loss of only 0.4 lbs this week.  It is still a loss, so I'll take it.  I do, however, want to get some bigger losses.  If I could consecutively lose 1-2 lbs a week I would be ecstatic!

I'll just have to keep working on a plan that will work the best for me.  Wish me luck!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Highest Weight ~ 297.0
(re) Starting Weight ~ 4/8/20 ~ 283.4

Last Week's Weight ~  4/24/20 ~ 279.6 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 5/1/20 ~      279.2 lbs

This Week's Total:    -.04 lbs

Total:  -4.2 lbs
Grand Total: -17.8 lbs

I'm going to be weighing in on Mondays but will post my results on Wednesday.

I hope you follow along on my (seemingly never-ending) journey!  If you'd like to join in, let me know :)

Weekly Weigh In ~ 2/5/20

No Workshop or Weigh In this week.  Our Youth Group had a Lock In (all night get-together with food and fun) Friday night and I'm a Youth Helper.  The Lock In wasn't over until 11am Saturday which is well after my Workshop.

I do, however, have some exercise news.  We've been going to the gym pretty regularly for a few weeks now.  Laken turned 13 years old on Sunday and can now go with us!  Monday evening was the first evening that we were able to go to the gym as an entire family of four :)  Laken was very excited to show us her "stuff" :)  We were diligent to make sure she didn't over-do herself, though!

I do mainly cardio but Doug, Kaylee and Laken do a little bit of cardio to warm up and then move on to the weights and lifting area.  I'm just not ready for that yet!  It was actually FUN!  I remember going to the gym by myself and dreading it because everyone else was at home.  I think going as a family will definitely help me be more consistent with my gym time.  I'm definitely feeling stronger!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

WW Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs
2020 Starting Weight ~ 12/28/19 ~ 270.2 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 2/1/20 ~      ? lbs

This Week's Total:    ? lbs

I'll be weighing in on Saturdays and posting my results on Wednesday.  If you'd like to join in on the journey, I'd love to have some weight loss friends!

A few sentences about each day...

January 23-29, 2020

23/Thurs ~ We got a wifi extender to boost the wifi upstairs as the modem is downstairs and the connection hasn't been the best.  So far it is working well and apparently the problem wasn't my laptop!  VOTD:  Mark 2:17

24/Fri ~ Kaylee and I went to the hair salon today before the rain/ice came.  I got highlights and Kaylee got a pixie cut.  It is so cute!  VOTD:  John 11:6

25/Sat ~ We had a Family Movie Night and watched the sequel of Maleficent.  I liked it better than the first movie.  VOTD: Psalm 95:6

26/Sun ~ Today I didn't feel the best.  I made it through Church in the morning and then took a Sunday afternoon nap.  I went to bed early with the hope that I'd feel better in the morning.  VOTD:  Romans 12:12

27/Mon ~ I feel much more the thing today.  I received my Valentine Swap package from Deb @ www.readerbuzz.blogspot.com in the mail today.  The chocolate didn't last long :)  I also got a letter from my Pen Pal and Kaylee got a letter stating that she made the Dean's List!  It was a good mail day :)  VOTD:  Psalm 62:8

28/ Tues ~ I wrote a letter back to my penpal with some get-to-know-me information and got it in the mail.  I got some yarn to make my "Angel" from Church a shawl for Valentine's Day. Now I just need to get it crocheted so that I can send it to her at college.  I hope she likes the color!  VOTD:  Habakkuk 2:2

29/Wed ~ I got 8000 steps in today!  That is a new record for me!  Kaylee and I went to the gym and the store.  Then I went to the dentist with Doug.  This evening was Prayer Meeting and Bible Study.  I'm beat!  VOTD:  Proverbs 12:4

Weekly Weigh In ~ 1/29/20

Hello and Happy Weekly Weigh In!

Can you tell that I had a loss this week?  I'm feeling cheerful!

My Workshop on Saturday was all about tracking.  Tracking in an honest, accurate manner is why I had a loss this week.  Most days, I actually pre-tracked.  What that means is that at the beginning of the day, I went into MyWW app and tracked the food I was planning to eat that day and then I stuck to it.  It worked!  I lost 1.4 lbs and actually had 1 smart point taken away from my daily allotment.  I now get 29 smart points daily along with my 42 weekly points.

As for exercise, I worked my butt off this past week!  We're back to going to the gym on a regular basis and I earned 33 Fit points which surpassed my 25 fitpoint goal for the week.  The app actually asked me if I want to increase my fitpoint goal to 35 and I went for it!  I'm going to really have to push myself to reach 35 fitpoints this week.  I'll let you know how I do at next week's weigh in.

Now,

On to the weigh in:

WW Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs
2020 Starting Weight ~ 12/28/19 ~ 270.2 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 11/17/20 ~ 269.8 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 1/25/20 ~ 268.4 lbs

This Week's Total:  -1.4 lbs

Grand Total: -22.4 lbs

I'll be weighing in on Saturdays and posting my results on Wednesday.  If you'd like to join in on the journey, I'd love to have some weight loss friends!

Thankful Thursday ~ 1/9/20

Here are some things that made me smile this week:

~Little Women!  Laken and I went to see the new Little Women movie at the theater.  Little Women is one of my all time favorite books and I loved the older version of the movie.  This newer version comes in a close second but that might be because I'm partial to the older, more-to-the-book version.  This new movie has flashbacks and moves at a totally different pace.  I loved it :)

~Goodreads Challenge 2019!  I finished up the Goodreads Challenge 2019 on December 30, 2019 with 26 books read.  I was cutting it down to the wire!  For 2020, I'm once again setting my goal at 26 books but I've already read 2 books toward my goal and am "secretly" hoping to read 52 books this year:  1 a week :)

~Christmas Cleanup!  I love Christmastime, don't get me wrong, but when all the decoration are put away and everything cleaned up I truly feel like a New Year is upon us with all things clean and fresh :)

~Skipbo with the Hubby!  I was bored one evening during break and talked the hubby into playing Skipbo with me.  Just the two of us.  The first hand I dealt 30 cards and the hubby one ruthlessly!  The second hand I only dealt 10 cards and I won ruthlessly!  It was fun to spend some quality time :)

~Back at It!  I'm full speed ahead on my health, fitness and wellness goals.  I'm tracking my food and getting in the exercise.  Tuesday was so pretty that Kaylee and I went outside to walk.  It was still a bit chilly but the sun was shining and I was soaking in the Vitamin D!  When the weather doesn't permit a walk outside, I've been using the new-to-me treadmill that I got for $50 :)

What made you smile this week?

Weekly Weigh In ~ 12/4/19

I had a small gain this week.

I think it was a combination of Thanksgiving, eating out on Black Friday and slacking on tracking.

Thanksgiving was great.  I didn't do too badly but I did get seconds when I really wouldn't have needed to.

Black Friday the hubby and I have a tradition of going shopping and then getting breakfast.  We went to Denny's and I had a Moon Over My Hammy!  So good but I imagine chock full of points and the it being the day before weigh in couldn't have helped.

As for slacking on tracking, I didn't track Thursday or Friday.

All that being said, I only gained 0.8 lbs last week.  I was still bummed because it threw me back up into the 270's.  Again!

However, I'm still really close to the 25 lbs charm and I want to get it before Christmas.  I really, really want to get it before Christmas!

So what have I been doing this week?  I've been tracking.  Everything.  And I've been walking either in the stores or on my treadmill.  I'd really love a Fitbit for Christmas so I can count my steps.

And...I'm back to participating in the Facebook Group "WW Challenge Squad" 's 3% Challenge for December.  I'm hoping it will help keep me motivated during this month of the usual splurgings.  My 3% goal is to lose 8.2 lbs in December.  Totally doable.  I hope!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 11/23/19 ~ 269.6 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 11/30/19 ~ 270.4 lbs

This Week's Total:  +0.8  lbs

Grand Total: -20.4 lbs

I'll be weighing in on Saturdays and posting my results on Wednesday.  If you'd like to join in on the journey, I'd love to have some weight loss friends!

Thankful Thursday ~ 11/21/19

Here are some things that made me smile this week:

~2020 Pen Pals!  I'm excited to let you know that I'll be putting together another round of Pen Pals for 2020!  I did this back in 2017 and had a lot of success with participation.  I'd love you to consider being a Pen Pal this coming year.  Click HERE to find out more :)

https://collettaskitchensink.blogspot.com/2019/11/2020-pen-pal-sign-ups-ends-122019.html

~Aunt Mary and Dolly!  I mentioned last week that my Aunt Mary and my two cousins, Dolly and Nikki, were flying up from Florida for the weekend.  Well, Nikki ended up chickening out on flying...  I can't say that I blame her, really.  I've only been in an airplane once in my life and that was almost 20 years ago for our Honeymoon.  We did get to have a nice visit with Aunt Mary and Dolly.  For that, I am thankful :)

~New-to-Me Treadmill and Bike!  A work friend of the hubby's sold us a very gently used treadmill and exercise bike for $100!  I had been hinting to the hubby that I wanted a treadmill for Christmas so this came at just the right time.  Now I can crank up The Message and walk away on the treadmill :)

I went Green!  WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) is now MyWW and gives members 3 options to pick from.  Green, Blue and Purple.  I picked the Green option!  To read more about this see my Weigh Post from this week.  It should be the post before this one :)

~I Finished Mark!  In my efforts to up my Bible reading time, I picked the Book of Mark to read.  I finished reading through Mark yesterday!  Any suggestions on which Book of the Bible to read next?  I was thinking maybe Luke, but we're studying Luke at Sunday Evening Services.  What do you think?

What made you smile this week?

Weekly Weigh In ~ 10/30/19

Well, this week I maintained.  No loss.  No gain.

Considering how much junk I ate last week and no exercise, I was fully expecting a gain so I was relieved with maintaining my current weight.

This week's Workshop topic was right on point for me!  It was about "setting goals within reach".  I've been struggling with my exercise goal for weeks because I was setting my sights too high.  After this Workshop, I've realized that starting out small is actually the best way to go.  Also, set yourself up for success and not for failure.

It is working!  I've walked 2 times already this week and fully intend to finish the week out strong.  The difference is in my thinking.  Instead of thinking "I have to go to the gym and work out for an hour or more", I'm thinking "head outside and take a nice walk in the cool crisp fall air".  So much more fun!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 10/19/19 ~ 269.4 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 10/26/19 ~  269.4lbs

Weekly Weigh In ~ 10/16/19

I was so worried to go to my Workshop on Saturday!  After missing last week's Workshop, I didn't feel like I did very well with my eating and definitely didn't meet my fitness goals.

However, when I got on the scale I had lost 2 lbs!  I don't feel like 2 lbs in 2 weeks is a GREAT loss but at least I lost and didn't gain!

AND, I hit 20 lbs lost!  20.4 lbs to be exact.

I'm so close to being in the 260's and really want to make that my goal this week.

The Workshop itself was about "stress eating" and we had a very good talk about stressors and what to do instead of stress eating.  Here are WW's suggestions:

1.  Just breathe
2.  Git a hit of nature
3.  Use your tools
4.  Reach out

I can honestly say that I don't do enough of any of these when I get stressed but now I have something to focus on instead of stress eating!

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 9/28/19 ~ 272.4 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 10/12/19 ~  270.4lbs

This Week's Total:  -2.0  lbs

Grand Total: -20.4 lbs

I'll be weighing in on Saturdays and posting my results on Wednesday.  If you'd like to join in on the journey, I'd love to have some weight loss friends!

Weekly Weigh In ~ Week 11 ~ 10/9/19

I'm going to keep this short and sweet this week.

I didn't make it to my Workshop on Saturday morning as I was sick :(  I have no idea if I lost, gained or maintained last week.

I did make an effort to get back to the gym and get some exercise in.  So that is a good start.

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 9/21/19 ~ 273.4 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 10/5/19 ~ ? lbs

The September 3% Challenge (from the facebook group "WW Challenge Squad") wrapped up yesterday.  My goal was to lose 8.4 lbs in September.  I missed my goal by 2 lbs for a total September weight loss of 6.4 lbs!!!

Even though I didn't meet my challenge goal, I'm super happy with losing 6.4 lbs.  Especially with how lax I was throughout the month with my exercise.

Speaking of exercise...I've been hitting the gym again this week.  I made it a goal that in October I'm going to get back into the swing of exercise.  So far, so good :)

As for October's 3% Challenge, my goal is to lose 8.2 lbs.

Also, there are 12 weigh ins before Christmas!  (can you believe it??).  I'd love to get to 250.0 lbs by Christmas.  I'm going to work really hard and see what happens.  Anything I lose will be a gift to myself :)

Now,

On to the weigh in:

Starting Weight ~ 7/27/19 ~ 290.8 lbs

Last Week's Weight ~ 9/21/19 ~ 273.4 lbs

This Week's Weight ~ 9/28/19 ~ 272.4 lbs

This Week's Total:  -1.0  lbs

Grand Total: -18.4 lbs

I'll be weighing in on Saturdays and posting my results on Wednesday.  If you'd like to join in on the journey, I'd love to have some weight loss friends!

Weekly Weigh In ~ Week 9 ~ WW Freestyle

As I mentioned last week, I didn't make it to the workshop last Saturday due to a scheduling conflict.  That doesn't happen very often as my workshop is 8am-9am on Saturday morning.  I can usually squeeze it in before getting into anything else that day but missing the workshop couldn't be helped.

I was afraid to weigh in because I didn't have that weekly reset in my mind.  I wasn't as strict with my food or my exercise as a result.

However, I ended up losing 3.4 lbs over the last two weeks!  A pleasant surprise, indeed :)

My goal this week is to strive to get my fitpoints and to tighten up on my diet.  (Quit the mindless grazing!)

I'm so close to having lost 20 lbs!  I don't know if it will happen or not this week, but it is another goal I'm giving myself.

This week (9/21/19) also marks my 2 month WW journey.  I'm so excited to be getting the results I want!

Now,

Weekly Weigh In ~ 2/2/19

Just a little recap:  Kaylee and I joined Planet Fitness on Wednesday!  It is about 35 minutes from our house so we're planning on making the trip at least 3 times per week.  It will usually be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

We started out modestly with 2.5 miles on Wednesday and 2.5 miles on Friday.  (Our schedule was mixed up this past week.)  Ultimately, I' d like to get up to 5 miles per workout.  (2 on the treadmill and 3 on the recumbent bike.)

***Side note:  We made a quick stop at Wal-Mart this morning for Kaylee to get some "gym pants".  Why are those things so expensive?  We ended up lucking out and finding some on clearance for $5!  That's right, $5!  As for me, my "gym pants' are getting worn but I refuse to buy new until I'm in a smaller size.  Please, Lord, let me get into a smaller size soon!***

Diet

Today is Laken's 12th birthday so we ate at Cracker Barrel and made her a birthday cake.  Yes, I could have done without the side of mac-n-cheese but what's done is done...

Sunday's are a pretty low-key eating day for me.  I just hope that when getting back onto my regular schedule Monday I can stay on track and have some discipline.  I have got to stay out of THE JUNK FOOD and away from snacking!!!

I've been really good with not drinking any soda (or as we call it, pop).  I've even gotten to the point that I crave water like I used to crave Diet Dr. Pepper!

On to the Weigh In:

Starting Weight ~ 297.0

2/1/19 ~ 285.2

Total:  -11.8

How was your week?
