This is the beginning of "Beaches".
I love looking at a basket full of yarn and knowing that I is going to be created into something beautiful!
I'm using a Granny Stripe of alternating "beachy" colors. Crocheting on the deck is one of my favorite things to do :)
Progress to this point. It reminds me of the sun, sand, sky and water.
Next week I'll show you the completed project. I love how it turned out :)
Please leave me a comment with a link so I can return the visit!!

I am relaxed just looking at your pictures! It definitely reminds me of the beach and bright happy summer colors. It looks like you have a nice shady deck - so perfect for the summer.

Love a basket full of possibilities! A Granny Stripe afghan is on my Create Some Day List. (I have so many things on that list...) Funny though...I have 6 skeins of "beach" yarn waiting right now. LOL One color is white and I don't think it works. Perhaps a soft yellow to go with the greens and blues instead....I'll check back next week to see how it looks finished!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful granny stripe afghan! I love these colours a lot, as you already know :-). This blanket would match my Granny cushion so well. I am curious how your afghan will look like when it is finished. Viola
ReplyDeleteI've been busting my stash a bit lately and I've done a few granny type projects. I love how easy they work up and I can enjoy working on the project while watching tv or while I sit outside with the neighbors after work. Those colors are great! It will be great for those long cold winter nights, so you can thinks about the warmer weather and the waves rolling in. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds blissful! I dream of a deck to crochet on. :-) Love your colour scheme, it makes me want to pick up a hook and get cracking. A few years back I always had a blanket going in winter but the past couple of years I have been more into making clothes. I love that you can sit under the blanket while you are making it and keep warm. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello fellow granny striper! Thank you for popping by to say hello on my blog. I love your beachy colours 😊 and crocheting on the deck sounds divine. I look forward to the big reveal!

ReplyDeleteThat is really pretty. The colors are a good combination. I haven't crocheted in a while but you make me want to get back to it. So glad you shared your project at Monday's Musings. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours!! I lived by the sea and crocheted my Stanley (the name of the seaside town) blanket while living there. My colours were not as bright as yours...more muted blues, greys, greens, yellows...but they were the colours that surrounded me :)) xx
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I really like the beachy colors.
