Make it Monday ~ Beaches Poncho ~ 10/12/15

I had a good bit of yarn left over from my Beaches Afghan.  I'm trying to use up stash and decided to make a poncho out of what was left.  Here is the outcome:

I  used the Groovy Granny Poncho pattern I found on ravelry.com for a guide.  I mostly needed the pattern for the neckline and then the rest is basic granny stripes.  I do love me some granny stripes :)

I was on a mission to get this done and crocheted my fingers off.  I love how it turned out!  Sorry about the glare :(

I have  few other poncho styles in my queue.  Have you ever made a poncho?  I'd love to see them!

Make it Monday ~ Scrappy Granny Stripe Afghan Progress ~ 10/10/15

This is an update on my progress so far with my "Scrappy Granny Stripe Afghan".  You can see my first post HERE

I have roughly 5 1/2 repeats completed.

Here is the yarn I have left.  I plan to keep crocheting until I use it all up :)

I hate the thought of tying these ends in!

So, that is what I have done so far.  My goal is to get a lot more crocheted this week.  I don't know if I'll be able to get it completed this week but I'll let you know how it goes :)

Make it Monday ~ Scrappy Granny Stripe ~ 9/28/15

Have you ever made a scrapghan?  The closest I've made to one was using scrap yarn to create my Weekend in Stockholm afghan.

My current WIP is a true scrapghan, though.  I'm using skeins of yarn that were left over from other projects.  My options were to try to return them or meld them together and see what the outcome looks like.  I chose to be adventurous :)

Below are all the colors that I had a complete skein left.  They are all Red Heart Super Saver.  Per my usual, here is the "before" yarn:

They're not exactly colors that I would EVER have put together but I kinda like it so far.  I have two skeins of the gray so I'm thinking about using that for the border to tie it all in.

I'm using my go-to Granny Stripe pattern.  It is nice and easy for crocheting while watching TV.

It is also a nice break from all those African Flowers!

What do you think so far?  I'd love to see any scrapghans that you've made.

Make it Monday ~ Bree's Granny Stripe Complete! ~ 9/14/15

As mention in THIS POST, Bree is Kaylee's friend who picked the following colors for a Granny Stripe Afghan.

I love how a basket full of yarn skeins can be turned into anything.

The repetitive colors did get a bit much after a while so I took a break and worked on African Flowers before getting back to this and getting it DONE!

I made a simple granny stripe edging in red to finish it off.

Don't you just love sitting back and looking at a finished project that you know will be loved by someone special?

Make it Monday ~ Bree's Afghan ~ 8/3/15

Kaylee's friend, Bree, went to the cabin with us in the beginning of July.  As I mentioned, Beaches also went with us and spent its time on the couch.  When I asked Bree if she would like me to make her an afghan, she got so excited!

She immediately knew what colors she wanted:

Below is the start of the afghan.  I'm making it in granny stripes just like Beaches.  It has grown a bit since I took this picture.

I should have it done before too, too long.  I'll make sure to show it to you when it is complete!

Make it Monday ~ Beaches Complete! ~ 7/27/15

This is the beginning of "Beaches" as seen last week.

And here it is in all it's Granny Stripe goodness!

I am in love with this afghan.  It went to the cabin with us and had a place of honor upon the couch.

I edged it in a Granny Stripe of gold to really tie in the gold stripes throughout the afghan.

This is definitely one of my favorites so far!  I just love the colors.

What do ya think!  Does it look "Beachy"?

Make It Monday ~ Beaches ~ 7/20/15

This is the beginning of "Beaches".

I love looking at a basket full of yarn and knowing that I is going to be created into something beautiful!

I'm using a Granny Stripe of alternating "beachy" colors.  Crocheting on the deck is one of my favorite things to do :)

Progress to this point.  It reminds me of the sun, sand, sky and water.

Next week I'll show you the completed project.  I love how it turned out :)
