Dreaming of Summer Blog Hop ~ Ends 12/2/12

Even though it is only 30 F here in Pennsylvania, it seems as if summer were just yesterday.  How does the time go by so fast now that I'm an adult?

I guess it IS time to start planning for NEXT Summer's vacation.  The girl's are already asking about it.

    I had such a bummer summer this year. I was sick and didn't get to take the kids on any fun vacation day trips or long trips. They did get to go swimming a whole lot, though. They loved that. Next summer my husband and I plan on making sure that our children have a fun summer!

    Over the summer I went to North and South Dakota to visit national parks, including Mt Rushmore. It was a lovely respite from muggy hot Florida summer.

    I went to Orlando, Florida for the first time! We stayed there for a week and visited all the Disney parks as well as Universal's Island of Adventures!

    Summer this year we went on a few lovely picnics in the mountains. Next year I have hopes of somewhere really exciting like Paris or the Greek Islands... dreaming of it anyway!

    Technically, I did my summer trip in the spring. I did a Warrior Dash with my husband, and then we went to New Orleans for a weekend. I had to move from Mississippi to Northern NY.. again. We're an army family so we're always on the go!

    Didn't really do to much this summer. Spent time with Family and Friends, went to a couple of weddings, Family reunions and did a lot off reading. Next summer you never know anything can happen.

    We took our kids to Disney World for a week last summer, and it was wonderful! Especially since I worked the rest of the summer.

    This past summer I went to see my dad in Oregon. He had just finished with his chemotherapy and found out that the cancer spread to his liver so me and my kids went to visit him to spend some time with him. It was a bitter-sweet visit.

    I took a week off work around July 4th and we ended up staying at home because it was absolutely too hot to go anywhere. It was 102-105 each day, and it was all we could do to stay halfway cool! At least we didn't have to go to work those days :)

    Next year, we'll probably go somewhere for a long weekend, but not sure where yet.

    This summer my husband and I went on our second honeymoon. We came back to the place where we had our first honeymoon (Carmel, CA). It was amazing. We had some extra time during this honeymoon. We did lots of hiking, window shopping, and spent time at the aquarium in Monterey. It was just as romantic as the first time. :)

    we spent a week in Florida and our summer weekends consisted of baseball tournaments and looking at colleges for my senior. We do have a cruise and florida planned for next year.

    Over the summer, we made a stressful out-of-state move. I DESPISE moving! Since marrying hubby 16 years ago, we've moved a lot(6 times) -- 2 of them out-of-state. Who knows how long we'll be where we are? I'm so tempted to tell hubby to go alone ;)

    Our farm does farmers' market and has a CSA. We work a lot all summer long. Vacation? I'm glad I traveled a lot before I settled down and had a family (and a farm).
