15 Minutes to Stitch ~ 2/5/2023

 

One of my "plans" for 2023 is to spend 15 minutes a day stitching.  That might entail sewing, quilting, crocheting anything else I might come up with.  I'll be joining in with Kate @ Life in Pieces.

The past week or so I've picked up the Blue and White Quilt I've been (not) working on for my Mom for the past 1.5 YEARS!  I am determined to finish hand quilting it and finally gifting it to my Mom.  I would say I'm about halfway through the hand quilting.

Something new I've been working on is for another swap.  The swap is for 6 of the heart blocks below.  It is a centralized swap so I will be sending 12 blocks to the hostess and receiving 12 blocks of varying colors back.  I decided to sew my blocks using purples.  One down, eleven to go!

15 Minutes to Stitch ~ Friendship Quilt Block Swap ~ 1/15/2023

I didn't have much time this week to stitch as I was away from home every evening and fell into bed when I got home.

I did however get my Friendship Swap fabric sent out and have started to receive some pattern and fabrics in the mail from my swap partners.  I have Monday off of work so I plan on spending most of the day making quilt blocks.  I'm so excited to get my sewing machine dusted off.

Here are the contents of the packages I've received so far:

I did manage to get some pictures of Sunny Blue Hawaii progress.  I have 23/63 granny squares completed.  I actually plan on crocheting some more after I post this while we have a Family Movie Night.  So hopefully I'll have more to show next week.

Look at all these ends I have to sew in!  I don't mind sewing in ends but I have to be in the "mood" for it.  Which I'm not.   :)

So next week, I'm hoping to have some Friendship Swap quilt blocks to show you and some more Sunny Blue Hawaii 2.

Valentine Swap ~ Sign Ups ~ Ends 1/18/20

If you're like me, when Christmas is over I can get kind of bummed out if I don't have something to look forward to.  I just participated in a Christmas Swap and it was so much fun.  (Thanks Carol and Patti!)

 

So I was thinking...What about a Valentine Swap????

 

I realize Valentine's Day is a while away but I wanted to get this posted and give everyone time to sign up.  I debated waiting until after Christmas to post this sign up but I wanted to have it posted for those with some extra blog reading time over the holidays.

 

That being said, I would love to have some folks who would be willing to send a package worth around $10 to another swapper.

Flip Flop Swap ~ Sign-ups End 6/2/17

The weather is finally turning gorgeous in my neck of the woods.
(AKA:  Pennsylvania)

I've been wearing my flip flops since March 1st, but I thought it would be fun to have a flip flop swap to celebrate Summer coming.

Ravelry Swap Package!!! 4/28/15

My package came!  My package came!

 

I belong to a group on Ravelry called "Afghan Swap 2015".  We send three packages total through-out the year, the last of which will contain an afghan.

My partner is Renee.  I've enjoyed chatting with her and getting to know her a bit through Ravelry.  She sent me the first and second package together.  Man, did I make out!

Each package was to contain a handmade object, yarn, a recipe and other knick-knacks as desired.

My favorite color is turquoise and she remembered!  I can't wait to make something out of this yarn!  I love that she sent me a granny square pattern book and a cookie cookbook!  Great ideas for the blog and all ;)

The second bag had more turquoise!  A really cute glass container, ice-creams bowls and a little sunflower kit that I can't wait to try out.

My handmade item is a carry-all.  And it had a ton of things in it, too!

Look at all these goodies!!!

The third package had a little handmade bag, a beautiful fan lots of other fun things.

Books 'n' Bloggers Swap Show Off ~ 2/5/14

I was so excited to find out that my swap partner was Caroline from Glitter Tart Designs!  It was so much fun interacting with her and becoming friends on paperbackswap.com to see each other's wish lists.

Yesterday when I checked my mail, I was so excited to see a large package waiting for me.  I knew it had to be from Caroline :)

The contents were ALMOST too pretty to open:

She had decorated everything with ribbons, beautiful butterflies and included a bookmark and a package of tea.  I love tea!

After admiring the packaging for a bit, I could stand the suspense no longer!  I had to open the books.  Here is what sweet Caroline sent me:

I'm finally getting to post my swap gifts!  My partner was the wonderful

The water in this picture was the inspiration for my favorite color.

Ashley did an amazing job with my package.  I waited until both my girls were home so they could share the excitement of opening everything with me.

Seriously, this haul was awesome!

I can't wait to wear all the jewelry I got.  I love, love, love the bracelets, earrings and necklace.  I've been burning my candle ALL week and it smells so good.  That fingernail poslish is called "Gorgeous" and is going to be on my nails very soon!

The girls tried to steal my poof and "sea cotton" body gel but no way were they getting it.  I did share my skittles and chocolates though.  The notecards went straight in my stationary drawer.  I LOVE stationary!

This picture doesn't do this frame justice.  It is such a gorgeous color.  It needs a very special picture to fill it.  Maybe one from our Disney World trip :)  Ashley doesn't live very far from there.  Wouldn't it be great if we could meet up?  hint, hint.
