Tuesday 4 ~ New Year ~ 1/5/2021

https://mytuesday4meme.blogspot.com/

Head over to Tuesday's Place for the questions and to visit everyone's answers!

1.   When was the last time you tried something new?:

I tried online grocery ordering and pickup a few weeks ago.  I was surprised how easy and convenient it was.  I don't think I'll do it on a regular basis because I enjoy the "getting out of the house" aspect of shopping.  I also enjoy browsing :)

2.   Who in your family do you compare yourself to?:

I hate to say that I compare myself to anyone, but...probably my Mom because I want to live up to her example.

3.   What lesson in life did you learn the hard way?:

Don't wait to get help for depression/anxiety.  Whew!!!  That was a hard one!

4.   What can you do today that you weren't able to do before?:

I can follow crochet patterns.  Even hard ones:)

P.S.  I hope you can stop by MY SHOP and give it some love!

  1. Great answers. I have not yet ordered actual grocery items online, but have ordered many of the staple goods from Walmart for delivery, just not fresh food, as they don't deliver out where we live. Our local grocery store would deliver, but we live in a small town and our store is never crowded and we enjoy getting out, so we like to go there and shop. But it is nice to know it is an available service if we really need it! I am impressed by your ability to crochet. I have never learned to knit or crochet. I am a "lefty" and learning such things was awkward for me (and for the woman who tried in vain to teach me). So I appreciate other people's lovely work! Thank you for doing that!!

    1. I've heard that there are some great youtube videos teaching lefties to crochet. I enjoy getting out to shop also :) Thanks for stopping by!

  2. You're a few steps ahead of me. I'm trying to learn to crochet by following a YouTube video but reading actual patterns is way down the line, assuming I ever get there!

    I enjoyed reading your answers.

    1. I learned from my grandmother and mother at a young age how to do the basics. I taught myself to read patterns when I was around 30 years old. You'll get there :)

  3. We use the order online grocery shopping most always. I now go in for just small orders.

  4. I've used online grocery shopping a few times, but I'm not crazy about it. The "professional" shoppers are not very picky about the condition of produce or if the expiration date is tomorrow or next week. I'll use it in a pinch, but now that I'm not working I don't really have any "pinches."

  6. I have not done the online grocery shopping yet, but we started doing the order from your app for restaurants and fast food. My husband does it anyway. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

  7. I have done so much online that I never thought I would do. I have had groceries delivered a couple of time and will again if things get much worse. One of my favorite things now is ordering from our favorite restaurants then having curbside pickup

  8. Colletta,

We began using online grocery shopping (Instacart & Walmart) since last March. I like browsing in stores but I hate shopping so having groceries delivered works well for us. It's still a bit of a headache but it's better than dealing with a store full of crazy, rude people. I don't think their goal is to be rude but they are super inconsiderate leaning over, squeezing by, or running into you without a forethought that maybe some people don't want to exchange body dander or germs. There's little evidence in my limited trips into stores since the pandemic that people have changed from their bad habits. You'd never know by watching these people they are following social distancing practices because they aren't. We don't get take out delivered or curbside. I've found it quite enjoyable cooking new entrees and exploring my creativity in the kitchen. The pandemic forced me to slow down in this regard instead of looking for an easy meal delivered or for take out. I'm grateful I glad to discover how much I love cooking/baking.

Crochetting is something I always wanted to learn but never did. These days I find it challenging to do anything that requires small detail. It strains my eyes too much.

It was fun reading your responses. I hope 2021 is good to you, my friend. Happy New Year!!

    1. I hate when people crowd me in a store! So rude! We also tried many new recipes and saved a lot of money from not eating out as much :) I wish only the best for you and yours in 2021!
