Happy Homemaker Monday ~ 1/11/2021

Come join Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello, and Happy Monday!
The weather outside is:
Cold.  Very cold.  AND Thursday night the motor on the furnace coal feed decided to not work.  I stayed bundled under the covers until it was fixed with a little TLC from my Dad early Friday morning.
On today's to-do list:
Kona (our chocolate lab) has been shaking her head quite a lot lately as if her ear are bothering her.  So...we have an appointment with the vet today at 9:15am.  The vet's office is completely "curbside".  When we get there, we call in to let them know and check in.  Then the vet tech will come out to the car and get Kona.  When the vet is through with the exam, she will call us and let us know the outcome.  We even pay over the phone.  Then the vet tech will bring Kona back out to us.  Crazy times!
Edited to add:  Kona has infection in both ears.  We were given meds to help clear it up.
Happening this week:
It is a pretty normal week otherwise.  We do have our monthly Ladies Meeting/Potluck on Tuesday evening.
Currently reading:
I love Susan May Warren and am excited to get back to The Montana Marshalls series with "Wyatt".
On the TV:
Oceans 8 ~ Was NOT a huge fan...To me the only interesting part was the end when they explained how everything went down.
Call Me Kat ~ This is Mayim Bialik's new comedy show.  It was OK.  I'm going to give it another shot this week and see what I think after that.
Listening to:
I featured "Fear No More" by Building 429 this week on Songs on Sunday.
On the menu week:
Monday ~ Irish Stew
Tuesday ~ Ladies Meeting/Potluck
Wednesday ~ Cheddar Potato Bacon Soup, sandwiches
Thursday ~  Sausage Balls, Hash Browns
Friday ~ Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, hot ham and cheese
Saturday ~ Stuffed Shells, garlic bread
Sunday ~ Potluck at Church
In the Craft Basket:
I've been making dish cloths to add to the etsy shop.
Picture From the Camera:
None this week :(
Memory Verse
Have a great Monday!
I'd love for you to stop by and give THE SHOP some love!
  1. I hope KONA is going to be okay. Both our BIG dogs had ear problems their whole life due to allergies - not fun when they hurt like that.
    I hate to admit it, but I don't think Mayim's show is going to make it. I wanted to like it so bad, but I'm not a fan of that style narration, it just doesn't engage me the way I need.
    Your menu sounds good for a cold winter's week. I hope it's a great week with no more furnace issues.
    1. We just got back from the vet and Kona has double ear infections :( Cleaner and drops were given to us to help and she goes back in 10 days for a recheck.
      I really wanted to like Mayim's show also, but I don't like how she talks to the camera at all! I've watched 2 episodes and I'm just not feeling it. I think I'll give it one more episode so it has a fair shake but my hopes aren't high :(
      Thanks for stopping by!
  2. I had the same feelings about the Kat show. I've watched 2 episodes now and just not too enthralled. However, I did read where it's based on a successful British show titled Miranda so perhaps something is getting lost in transit. Loved the Oceans movies but the "8" seemed far away from the original idea to me and I've not watched it. Hope Kona makes a speedy recovery! Have a great week.
    1. I just couldn't get interested in "Oceans 8". Interesting that Kat is based on a British show. Maybe we have different ideas of good TV! lol
  3. Glad Kona got some meds to help with the ear infections. That must have been very painful/uncomfortable. I would love to know what is in your Irish Stew?
  4. Glad they found what ails your dog and that it can be healed easily. Weird how those appointments go these days.
    I wonder, how cold is REALLY cold? I know it all depends on where we live :)
    Have a great week
  5. Awww poor Kona, I'm glad you got the ears checked and will now be able to make her feel better. My Marley is half lab and half English pointer and he also struggles with his ears because of allergies. Poor babies.
    Hope you have a blessed week ahead :)
