Today's "First Lines" and "56" are from:

First Lines

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
William Shakespeare

We are God's masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10 NLT

 Q.  Is there a specific genre you like to read during the Winter? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

 A.  Not really.  I do like to read a few Christmas books during December but this year I've been in a fiction funk and have been reading nonfiction instead.  I'm hoping the desire to read fiction will be rekindled sometime soon!

  2. do you have a typo? Isn't it "All the WORLD'S a stage" not word? Or was that intentional? I sometimes feel overwhelmed by emotions so I bet this book would be helpful. My quotes from THE DUTCH HOUSE

  3. Today on my blog I’m sharing the first two lines from The Earl’s Betrothal by Karen Tuft. This book is SO good. If you love Regency I highly recommend this story. I’m currently on chapter 10, so I’ll share from there:

“Amelia slept until noon, so exhausted she was from the events of the day and night before.”

Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂❤📖

  4. Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing the first lines from Courage to See: Daily Inspiration from Great Literature by Greg Garrett and Sabrina Fountain: "When I was a child, I wanted to sleep with my books, something my mom wouldn't allow because I slept on the top bunk, and she didn't want them falling down and hitting my sister."

  5. Happy Friday!
This week on my blog I shared the first lines from the novella collection Sew in Love but I'm currently reading Seconds to Live. I'll share the first line from chapter 3 here: "In a warm robe, her fingers pink and wrinkled from the hour spent in the tub, Taylor grabbed her phone and studied the missed call." Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. My first line is from the debut novel Above the Fold by Rachel Scott McDaniel.

    March 10, 1922 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Soot-stained windows filtered the morning light, casting an ashen shadow on the crowded courtroom and darkening the sting of judgment.

  7. I hope your interest in fiction comes back to you soon. Sometimes I think a change of pace can be a nice break.

I like to read holiday-themed books this time of year too, although that's about the extent of any type of seasonal reading I do.

I hope you have a great week!

  8. You know, I've never been all that interested in reading Christmas books. Maybe one day.
