My teaser for this week is from:
~"The crack of musket fire resounded through the clouded sky. Hailstones, the size of goose eggs, pelted the cobbled thoroughfare as people ran for shelter. Thunder clapped and an onslaught of shouts and shrieks echoed nature's vehement warning. Honour Metcalf sank to her knees in a puddle of quilted petticoats and toile--her mitted hand encased her head, vying for protection against the artillery of hail and confusion."~

Happy Tuesday!
For some reason the cover image and intro don't seem to mesh. I'm curious for more though ---enjoy
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing!
DeleteInteresting. I would like to know more about this one. My teaser this week comes from Dragon's Fire by Anne McCaffrey and Todd McCaffrey. I'm trying to finish this series by reading the books I missed when they were new. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm thinking that quilts come into play here? I like quilt fiction. Will keep this in mind. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely curious...I love quilts, for one thing. So I'm intrigued. Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “NO ONE KNOWS”
ReplyDeleteVivid description of a hail storm. I'm a quilter, so that aspect of the story interests me. Sounds like a good book.
ReplyDeleteMy Tuesday post features THE ALL-GIRL FILLING STATION’S LAST REUNION by Fannie Flagg.
What an opening scene! It certainly caught my attention and has me wanting to know more. I hope you enjoy this one.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of the cover. A great descriptive opening. Girl Who Reads
