I got a fat quarter pack of five in the Timeless Mediterranean fabric line. I also got the last of the yardage off a bolt. I decided to use it to make some wristlets/make-up bags. I'm calling them "Becca Wristlets".
You can find them under the "Totes and Bags" section of my shop.
I would have had 12 "Becca Wristlets" but it took me a few tries to get it how I wanted it to turn out. Three girls are now the proud owners of a "rejected" wristlet!
At first they were going to be plain but then I decided to use some of the scraps to applique an accent strip across the front with a fancy stitch setting on my sewing machine. I think it really sets it off nicely.
Somehow I missed that string hanging onto the side of the lining. There is a layer of fusible interfacing sandwiched between the outside fabric and the lining.
As you can see each bag has a zipper to keep your goodies nice and safe.
These bags would be great for make-up or to grab a few things for a quick trip. Wallet, cell phone, sunglasses, lip gloss, etc. They measure approx. 8.5" X 6".
The above picture shows them ALL DONE...
I also have another fat quarter pack in "Seaglass". I'm trying to decide if I want to make more wristlets or maybe some "Stephanie Totes".

ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! I used the same fabric (the fat quarter pack and a jellyroll) to make a valance and quilted cover for my knitting machine. I decorated my craft room using those colors as my inspiration.
