My teaser for this week is from:
~"Chicago
October 8, 1871
A wall of fire towered over Mollie. The city of Chicago had been burning for hours, the scorching wind stirring up firestorms that barreled down the narrow streets and illuminated the night sky. It was getting hard to breathe. Smoke and ash hung in the air, coating Mollie's throat until her thirst grew more painful than the blistering heat. The crush of people jostling to flee northward made it hard to even keep standing."~

Happy Tuesday!
This one sounds amazing - I don't know all that much about US history, but I'm aware that several cities suffered huge fires, given they were originally mostly timber buildings. My TT this week is a fantasy read -

ReplyDeleteMy TT from Something Deadly
One of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read this author before. Love the cover. Chicago is one of my favourite cities and the time of the fire is a fascinating period — so much architecture, amazing architecture, destroyed. I'd definitely read it. Here's my link for today: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-1id
ReplyDeleteThe cover doesn't do much for me, but the subject matter does.
