Blogging Challenge ~ My Greatest Weakness ~ 3/3/2021

This week's topic is:

My Greatest Weakness:

This week's topic and last week's topics have been DEEP!  At least they've made me dig deep and reflect on myself.  How about you?

I think my greatest weakness is fear.  Especially fear that produces worry and anxiety.

I find that some of my greatest fears are surrounding my family.  I worry for their health.  I worry for their safety.  I worry for their general well-being.  I worry over their happiness.

Basically, if I can worry about it, I do!

I've made great strides over the years to tame down my worrisome nature but it still lingers in the back of my mind waiting to rear its ugly head.

One of the biggest ways I try to overcome my worry is to pray.  God's got my back!

Oh, and DEEP breaths!

So, what is your greatest weakness?

  1. Worrying is an easy trap to fall into for sure!

  2. I'm in the worrying boat. Yep. There should be a shirt.

  3. I found in my times of great crisis that during prayer time I needed to shut up and let God talk to me. Meditation isn't easy, but when I felt his prescence is when peace came into my heart. I'm glad you shared this part of your life.

  4. My husband's mother was a worrier... to the extent that now, people who worry, we say they must have some Purvis in their blood! My post is here if you want to stop by!

  5. I think I get my "worrywart" gene from my mom...and boy is it a sneaky bugger! Any time I catch myself going down the rabbit hole of "what if" I remind myself to turn it around and say the opposite: what if something really good happens? What if it all turns out better than I imagined? It's helped a lot with fretting about possible negative things!

  6. Worrying is indeed my greatest thought/fear. I need to learn to trust in the Lord...and I will admit that is hard to do.

  7. Oh my word... I've made worrying an Olympic sport, so I understand completely!

  8. Yeah, worrying -- especially about things you can't really control -- can be a big drain on your energy.

  9. I hear you. Sometimes I feel if I don't worry enough about something, it will be bad luck, that the worrying is a necessary part of any process, its so built in me.

  10. Worry really eats away at you, doesn't it? I struggle with it too.

  11. Worrying too much is also a fault of mine.

  12. I'm right with you when it comes to worrying.
