Menu Monday ~ 4/9/12

I am by no means a fancy cook.  My kids and I are just way too picky for that.  I'm more of a baker.

I do however try to plan the menu out for the week to help save money while grocery shopping.  If I take stock of what I have and only get the ingredients I need to complete the meals planned, my grocery bill ALWAYS comes out less than if I was just winging it.

With the kids at school and hubby at work, I usually only plan one big meal a day.  We always try to sit at the table together and talk about our day.  I've found that the kids really like this time and miss it if we have too many meals at the kitchen bar or on the fly.  It amazes me how much kids love to have structure even if they they don't know it :)

So here is my menu for the week, as humble as it is:

Monday:

Breaded Pork Chops
Cheesy Potatoes
Broccoli
Strawberries

~~~~~
Tuesday:
Chicken-n-Rice
Green Beans
Apples w/ peanut butter
~~~~~

Wednesday:
(Church Fellowship Meal /Prayer meeting)

Spaghetti
Garlic Bread

~~~~~
Thursday:
Baked Steak
Mashed Potatoes
Corn
Grapes
~~~~~

Friday:
(family night)

Homemade Pizza

~~~~~
Saturday:
Bacon
Scrambled Eggs w/ cheese
Fried Potatoes
Toast
Strawberries
~~~~~

Sunday:
(Church Fellowship Meal)

 ~~~~~
You might have noticed that on Wednesdays and Sundays we have fellowship meals at church either before (Wed) or after (Sun) services or Bible study.  It is a great time to be with other Christians and learn more about each other and share our week.  It is definitely time well spent.
I can't wait to get some menu planning ideas from all the other who are linking up!  Maybe I'll even start fancying things up a bit.  Who knows...
Have a great Monday!
  1. Looks delicious! And I'm much more of a baker myself--but I'm on a diet, so I'm trying not to bake!!!
    Have a great week!
