Brownie Goody Bars

WARNING:  These brownies are addicting and absolutely delicious!!!  Must have milk on hand.  Be careful not to eat too many.

I found this recipe from http://www.hoosierhomemade.com/.  It made it's way to the top of my "Recipes to Try" pile very quickly.

I made them to take to Coffee Break at Church last night but didn't leave enough time for the top layer to completely set-up so it was a bit messy but so yummy.  Kelly said it was the best new recipe I've brought yet.  I promised I'd post the recipe on my blog because I had a few requests for it.

Tip:   This is not a quick make-and-take recipe.  You need to have enough time for the brownie layer to cool and then another hour for the cereal mixture to chill and set.  Unless you don't mind messy :)

Brownie Goody Bars

1 box brownie mix, plus ingredients to make them (13X9 size)
1 container vanilla icing or homemade
3 cups crisp rice cereal
1 cup Peanut Butter
2 cups chocolate chips

Bake brownies as directed on the box and let cool.

Spread vanilla icing on cooled brownies.

In a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and Peanut Butter.

Heat for about 2 minutes until slightly melted.  Stir until all the chocolate chips are melted.

Add cereal and mix until completely combined.

Spread cereal mixture over icing layer.

Refrigerate for 1 hour until set.  Cut into bars.

Share with your friends.  They will love you for it!

Let me know if you try these and I know you are gonna love 'em!

P.S.  Brian, I sent some home for you.  If you didn't get them, blame your mom and dad for eating them!
