My Overall Feeling of the Book:
This was the third book of the "Texas Star of Destiny" series. I read it as part of the "All Series, All Summer 2012". And another series is finished! Only one more book to go in this challenge.
I loved reading about Carson Quinn all grown up and a Texas Ranger. In the second book he was 14 and already was showing great bravery and honor.
Once again, I felt as if I was in the midst of the battle. This time the United States was fighting Mexico over the new U.S state of Texas. I really can't imagine living in the midst of such turmoil and fear. I would not by any mean make a good Army wife.
This was a great ending to a great series!
My Favorite Character:
You can probably guess that my favorite character was Carson. What a man! Strong, brave, cool-headed, might in battle and soft and tender when the time called for it.
My Favorite Scene:
My favorite scene is when Carson kicks the snot out of his uppity cousin, Remy! lol He needed taken down a notch or two.
My Favorite Sentence/Paragraph:
Irritated, Carson lifted his head. In the doorwary from the courtyard stood his parents, sisters, Emilio, and the housekeeper and Consuela. His father carreid the worn, small black Book of Common Prayer. Emilio carried the large family Bible toward the fireplace. "Carson and Mariel," Quinn said, "your mother and I have decided that we will marry you two here, tonight, in front of God and these witnesses. There is no reason that you shouldn't be together now--as man and wife."

It Would Have Been Better If:
Just like Book 2 of the series the romance aspect of the book was very quick due to the attention given to the war and battles. But, it ended nicely and I was pleased.
I Would Recommend This Book To:
Texans, ranchers, military women and wives, nurses, history buffs, those of German descent, immigrants, fans of "Walker, Texas Ranger".
