Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following: Grab your current read Open to a random page Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Pastry should be light," I said. "Not heavy, sitting in your stomach afterward. They should be whipped and formed to be as airy as possible, silky as possible. A puncutation to the meal."

Philippe smiled at me. "Exactement! You get it now."

  3. Here's one for you from a children's book called The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett:

There was a ram grazing near the hedge and the conversation was coming from it or, rather, somewhere in the long grass underneath it. There seemed to be at least four speakers, who sounded bad-tempered.

"Crivens! We wanna coo beastie, no' a ship beastie!"

    "Ach, one's as goo' as t'other! C'mon, lad, a'grab a holt o' a leg!"

"Aye, all the coos are inna shed, we ta' what we an!"

"Keep it doon, ep it doon, will ya!"

    "Ach, who's listnin'? OK, lads -- yan . . . tan . . . teth'ra!"

The sheep rose a little in the air, and bleated in alarm as it started to go across the field backwards.
