Blogging Challenge ~ Binge Watching TV ~ 3/31/2021

This week's topic is:

TV Shows I Binge Watch(ed):

The hubby was on second shift last week so I did a lot of binge watching my favorite TV shows that had begun piling up in the DVR.  Here are a few of my favorites :

Prodigal Son!

This is probably my favorite show!  It is in its second season and I haven't missed a single episode.  Technically I don't really binge watch this show because I watch it soon after it airs.  Best show ever!

NCIS!

This show I ended up binge watching about 4 episodes in a row to get caught up.  The original NCIS (the one I'm talking about) is my favorite.  I've tried to get caught up in the other NCIS spinoffs but Mark Harmon remains my favorite :)

FBI!

I think this is the second season for FBI.  Maybe the third...  I had around 6-7 episodes to watch.  It took me two evenings to get caught up.  I love Maggie and OA's characters as well as Jubal and the JOC.  Love this show :)

FBI:  Most Wanted

This show is a spin-off "FBI".  I still have a few episodes to catch up on.  I like "Most Wanted" but I like the original a tad more...

A few more:

There are a few new shows that we have DVR'd but haven't started yet.  They are "Clarice", "Debris" and "The Equalizer".

So, what are some TV shows that you binge watch(ed)?

Tuesday 4 ~ Books and TV ~ 3/30/2021

https://mytuesday4meme.blogspot.com/

Head over to Tuesday's Place for the questions and to visit everyone's answers!

This week let's talk about books and TV programs you enjoy.

1. Are you enjoying a book right now and would you tell us about it?

I've hardly read the past few weeks.  So much going on.  I did start reading "What to Do With an Eager Earl" by Ivy Hart.  It is a novella so hopefully I'll be able to get it read quickly :)

2. Do you have a list of books you are looking forward to reading in the near future?

I solely read on my Kindle these days.  I have Kindle Unlimited and have the maximum number of books borrowed right now.  They include the rest of The Jardin Sisters series.

3. What's on television (or YouTube, etc.) at your house?

Last night we started watching "Clarice".  Oh my!  So creepy...but fascinating :)

4.What series have you followed religiously and why? (can be TV or book series)

Tomorrow's post is all about my binge watching habits so I'm not going to go into detail but I've followed the following current TV shows:

The Prodigal Son, NCIS, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted and now Clarice!

The Good Stuff ~ Kaylee Said YES! ~ 3/26/2021

Here are some things that made me thankful/smile/excited this week:

~~~~~~~~
After 5 1/2 years of dating, these High School Sweethearts are engaged!!
Shawn took Kaylee on a hike where they used to go for walks and gave her a note asking her to marry him.  It was the very same way he asked her to go out with him.   Complete with "Circle Yes OR No"!  Isn't that so sweet?!?!
And look at this ring!  Gorgeous!!  (Good job, Shawn!)
They are both walking on clouds :)
What are you thankful for/smiling/exited about this week?  Tell me all the good stuff!
Happy Homemaker Monday ~ 3/15/2021
Hello, and Happy Monday!
The weather outside is:
Not QUITE as warm as last week but I'll take it!  I'll also take the extra daylight in the evenings :)
On today's to-do list:
The usual suspects.  Groceries, devotions, exercise, blogging and catching up from the weekend.
Happening this week:
I need to stop by our accountants office and pick up our tax papers.
In other news:  Laken starts Track & Field Monday.  She is very excited as last year they only had 2 weeks of conditioning and then everything was shut down for the first quarantine.  She wants to compete in the Long Jump and and Triple Jump and then when she is old enough Pole Vaulting.  Heaven help me!
Kaylee will be starting to work overtime.  Her company is starting to have sales for the outdoor equipment they sell.  She's almost been working at REI for a year!  Hard to believe...   How does time fly and stand still at the same time???
Currently reading:
I actually didn't even pick up my Kindle this week so I'm still getting ready to start reading "What to Do With an Eager Earl" by Ivy Hart.
On the TV:
We're slowly getting caught up on our DVR'd shows.  This week we watched some NCIS episodes.  Being that the hubby is on third shift this week, we'll probably get some TV time in before he leaves for work in the evenings.
Listening to:
KLOVE
The Message
The Highway
On the menu week:
Monday ~  Lumberjack Snacks
Tuesday ~ Irish Stew
Wednesday ~ Salisbury Steak, Butter Noodles
Thursday ~  Ham Pot Pie
Friday ~ Cheeseburger Pasta
Saturday ~ Subway
Sunday ~ Potluck at Church
In the Craft Basket:
"Linen" Granny Squares.  9/35 squares completed.
Memory Verse
"Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they do not make you useless nor unproductive in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."  2 Peter 1:5-8
Have a great Monday!
The Good Stuff ~ Annalea ~ 3/11/2021
Here are some things that made me thankful/smile/excited this week:
~~~~~~~~

This was a fairly good week with lots of good stuff happening.  However, by far the BEST thing that happened was:

Baby Annalea Marie decided to make an appearance a whole month early!

For those that don't know, Dex, Damon and now Annalea's mommy is my first cousin Steph.  She is like a little sister to me.  I was 10 years old when Steph was born and she has always had a special place in my heart as do her boys.  Now, LITTLE Annalea has captured my heart as well.

Annalea was born Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the early morning.  She only weighed 5 lb 10 oz at birth and measured 17 inches long.  She is a TINY LITTLE one.

Welcome to the family Annalea!  We love you so much already :)

What are you thankful for/smiling/exited about this week?  Tell me all the good stuff!

Blogging Challenge ~ Best Non-Book Gifts for Readers ~ 3/10/2021

This week's topic is:

Best Non-Book Gifts for Readers:

I think the answer to this question depends mostly on the reader in question.  So, I'm going to answer this question as if it pertained to me :)

Tea!

(Because I don't like coffee!  Yuck!)  I especially love Vanilla Chai Tea.  I also enjoy a tried and true Orange Pekoe :)

Stationary!

Along with my love of books comes a love of all things paper :)  Whether it be cards, note books or a plain old ream of computer paper, I don't care.  I just love me some stationary!

Pens!

Pens kind of go with stationary but I count them as a completely different item.  I love a good pen that writes smoothly and dries quickly.  There's nothing worse than a smeary pen!

Time!

There is no better gift than the gift of time.  Just spend time with me.  We can have a cup of that tea I was talking about and chat about the weather.  We can go for a walk and talk about how much weight we need to lose.  Or we can just sit together and watch an episode of Prodigal Son.  Time is precious :)

So, would you say is the best non-book gift for readers?

Top Ten ~ Spring Cleaning ~ 3/9/2021

This week's topic is a Spring Cleaning Freebie.

I already cleaned out my physical TBR shelf a while ago and took the books to my Church's library to share with other inspirational fiction lovers.  Since then, I've been reading solely on my Kindle.

I decided for today's Top Ten to share with you the books I have borrowed at the moment from Kindle Unlimited.  I love being able to carry all my books with me wherever I go and trying new-to-me authors!

My Weekly Bookishness ~ 3/5/2021

All things bookish!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What I Read:
You can read the blurb and my review HERE!
~~~~~~~~~~

What I'm Reading:

Blurb:

Lucy Jardin is heartsick. She's never been jealous of any of her sisters before, but her older sister Alison's sudden marriage has highlighted her own relative loneliness--her longing for such a whirlwind romance. But as a bespectacled, owlish young woman with a talent for accounting rather than more traditionally feminine pursuits, Lucy doesn't fancy her chances on the marriage market... even if she's allowed herself to dream, however fruitlessly, of one gentleman in particular. Roger Grayson, her new brother-in-law's best friend, who would never be interested in a woman as unusual as herself.

But when she's packed off to Lord Grayson's townhouse to balance his books, she makes several unusual discoveries. Roger is hiding the true nature of his employment - and perhaps, just perhaps, concealing a passion that could turn Lucy's world upside-down...

First Lines:

"Lucy."  Alison Black, Duchess of Waltham, walked across the room to where her sister sat, the brightness of her gown a strange juxtaposition to the concern written plainly on her face.

56%/Page 56

...did he really not want to be alone with her?  Was that why he was so far away from her now, as if they were sitting in separate carriages entirely?

~~~~~~~~~~~
What I'll (Probably) Read Next:
Blurb:
Helen Jardin has a rebel's heart. True, she isn't entirely sure how to go about being rebellious, but enthusiasm should more than make up for wisdom where scandal is concerned... even if said enthusiasm has left her in a seedy gaming hell, surrounded by men who seemed determined to make her be more scandalous than she'd like to be.
Thank goodness Isaac Mayfield, penniless marquess and family friend, is there to rescue her. Not only is Isaac trustworthy enough to confide in, he certainly won't tell her family about her plans to be disreputable - especially if she threatens dire consequences for his precious etchings. In fact, upon further consideration, he's just the person to aid Helen in her quest.
But scandal's a funny thing. Courting danger with a pleasant companion is very close to... well, courting. And as Isaac becomes kinder, wittier and more handsome by the minute, is Helen in danger of losing her heart rather than her reputation?
~~~~~~~~~~

What I Can't Wait To Read:

Blurb:

A young girl, kidnapped on the eve of World War II, changes the lives of a German archaeologist forced into the Nazi Party and--decades later--a researcher trying to overcome her own trauma.
1940. Hanna Tillich cherishes her work as an archaeologist for the Third Reich, searching for the Holy Grail and other artifacts to bolster evidence of a master Aryan race. But when she is reassigned to work as a museum curator in Nuremberg, then forced to marry an SS officer and adopt a young girl, Hanna begins to see behind the Nazi facade. A prayer labyrinth becomes a storehouse for Hanna's secrets, but as she comes to love Lilly as her own daughter, she fears that what she's hiding--and what she begins to uncover--could put them both in mortal danger.

Eighty years later, Ember Ellis is a Holocaust researcher intent on confronting hatred toward the Jewish people and other minorities. She reconnects with a former teacher on Martha's Vineyard after she learns that Mrs. Kiehl's mother once worked with the Nazi Ahnenerbe. And yet, Mrs. Kiehl describes her mother as "a friend to the Jewish people." Wondering how both could be true, Ember helps Mrs. Kiehl regain her fractured childhood memories of World War II while at the same time confronting the heartache of her own secret past--and the person who wants to silence Ember forever.
